Should Americans be concerned about Ebola? Should we suspend visas from the hardest hit countries? These are the questions we're wrangling with as we face the first outbreak of Ebola in the US. The administration and his supporters in the Democrat party are attempting to portray the very question as foolish, and concerned Americans as "hysterical." So let's take a look at this from a rational risk assessment perspective. (With Charts)

Curiously, a massive wave of anti-Obama sentiment in Egypt has been utterly ignored by vintage media, even though the protests may be the largest in all of human history. More pics at Zero Hedge

Tuesday's unrest in Lashio was sparked by a quarrel between two people, named by state media as Aye Aye Win, 24, a Buddhist woman who sold petrol, and Ne Win, a Muslim man aged 48. MRTV television said Ne Win poured petrol over Aye Aye Win and set her on fire. She was in hospital, it said. After police detained Ne Win, Buddhists surrounded the police station and demanded he be handed over. When they refused, the crowd went on the rampage, attacking Myoma Mosque near Lashio market, residents said.

Seems that Obama has his goon squad on Twitter - and Politico is crowing about the "trash-talking" going on - I say we give the trash talkers a little taste of their own medicine. I thought it might be nice if Freepers follow them all so we can engage in a little "spirited debate" David Plouffe @davidplouffe Tommy Vietor @TVietor08 Jon Favreau @jonfavs Jon Lovett @jonlovett Bill Burton @billburton Ben LaBolt @BenLaBolt David Axelrod @davidaxelrod Just a note - if you use their twitter handle in the body of your tweet - rather than at the beginning - it will...

An Ohio man at the market told President Obama that business has been "Terrible since you got here," according to the White House pool report. Via the pool report: Potus stopped to meet people waiting for him, where he did the requisite hand-shaking, high-fiving and the rare baby-holding before going on to chat with proprietors at Turczyk's Meats and the adjoining Larry Vilstein's, Christopher Bakery and Edward Badbuster & Son. He then asked the proprietor at Rolston Poultry how business was going. "Terrible since you got here," the man said. Pool could not get close enough to the Rolston Poultry...

The President of the South Suburban Branch of the NAACP alleges a director of the re-election campaign of Barack Obama has threatened and intimidated him because he doesn’t support the president....

Ok, so I stole this from a poster named Jake and modified it a little: Democrat civility: “If you believe things contrary to what I do, I’ll call you a racist or stupid, just letting you know.” Democrat compromise: “Here’s my deal for you. I’ll tell you what I want, and you will give it to me, or I’ll throw a hissy fit and call you more names” Democrat racial tolerance: “Romney is out of touch because black people don’t understand savings accounts.” Democrat free speech: “The US strongly denounces this despicable video. They had no right to say things...

We are in serious trouble people! We are facing an existential threat. And you’re shooting off round after round of friendly fire? What the heck is wrong with you? Did your Ivy League educations leave you incapable of common sense? Do you just have a desperate need to fit in at Washington Christmas parties? It’s enough to make you wonder whose side you’re on. Maybe you could point that gun in the other direction? (Rhetorically speaking, of course…eyeroll)

I thought this would be a good time to remember the 53%... I am the 53%. I had a tough life. My Dad died when I was 15. My Mom was mentally ill. After being passed around to different relatives during my Junior year, I lost all my credits, and never got to finish High School, let alone go to college. I learned the way Abraham Lincoln did, by massive amounts of reading. Without people in my life to guide me, I made a lot of mistakes, that I had to pay for. In my career, I worked hard and...

Democrats -- including former Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) -- are planning to show up in force at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte on Sept. 4 to challenge the lock that Planned Parenthood and pro-abortion activists seem to have on the Democratic Party. Democrats for Life of America (DFLA) says the Democratic Party needs to be more "diverse" and "inclusive" on the issue of abortion. The pro-life Democrats' group plans to “showcase Pro-life Democratic leaders in the political, academic, and religious fields who have spent years standing up for pro-life values and continue to fight for life today.” Stupak --...

Very interesting video of former Russian KGB agent, and defector, Yuri Bezmanov explaining how the Communists use division and crisis to bring about "revolution" framed against OWS footage and Obama's speeches.

After reading an open letter by our local talk radio station manager, outlining the assault this small station has undergone from Media Matters minions around the country, I decided to send him the following email to encourage him to stand strong in supporting free speech. The libs have this down to a science and we have to provide a counter-balance! Please take five minutes and call or email your local talk radio station and tell them to support free speech! Dear Sir, I read your open letter this morning (while I was logging on to listen to Rush) and just...

Residents of a wealthy lakefront community near Seattle are surprised to learn that one of their neighbors, who has lived in a $1.2 million home for the last 8 years, is the recipient of more that $1,200 a month in public housing vouchers, federal and state disability, and food stamps. Very interesting contrast between the way Politico treated accusations by Larry Sinclaire against Obama in 2008 verses posting anonymous accusations against Herman Cain today. Back then, they refused to even repeat the accusations. It seems to me that Larry Sinclaire and Ms. Bialek have about the same level of credibility. Shouldn't the same journalistic standards apply?

Meanwhile, a friend of Ms Bialek, from Chicago, told the New York Post: 'She has a very infectious personality. It’s easy to see how she won [Cain] over. But the reality of her situation is -- she’s a complete gold digger. It’s all about the money.' Adding that she was from a middle-income family but lives in a posh house while running from bill collectors, the source said: 'Most of her jobs ended in termination. It’s always the employer’s fault, not hers.

Occupy Wall Street claims to represent the 99% (they don’t) railing against the top 1%. They are angry with Wall Street in particular, although many of the top 1% aren’t Wall Streeters. Some of them never finished college. Many were average middle class people until they had a “big idea.” Judging from CNBC and outlets like Real Clear Markets, at least half of the those that are Wall Street folks lean left. I’ve seen manyof the 1% out there lobbying for higher taxes. Millionaires like Kanye West, Susan Sarandon and Michael Moore have visited. So it would seem that big...

Hey Occupy Wall Street, before you occupy another city, you just might want to ask yourself what you’d be willing to give up. You see – according to the world – you are the 5%. The US has 5% of the world’s population, but 35% of it’s wealth 40% of the world goes without indoor plumbing. 28% goes without electricity. http://www.iea.org/weo/electricity.asp And 70% without internet access. http://www.internetworldstats.com/stats.htm Why should you have access to all these luxuries just because you were lucky enough to be born in a free-market system? Just because the founders of your country had the foresight to...

I’ve seen several instances over the last few days of pundits (left and right) who try to equate the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement and the Tea Party (TP). The argument is that both share a distrust of the big banks and the Federal Reserve, and both are against the bailouts. Aside from the obvious differences in average age, tax paying status, and personal hygiene habits, from my observations, it is not at all clear that OWS is against the bailouts per se. The sense I get is more along the lines of “they got theirs, now I want mine.”...
