After reading an open letter by our local talk radio station manager, outlining the assault this small station has undergone from Media Matters minions around the country, I decided to send him the following email to encourage him to stand strong in supporting free speech. The libs have this down to a science and we have to provide a counter-balance! Please take five minutes and call or email your local talk radio station and tell them to support free speech!

Dear Sir,

I read your open letter this morning (while I was logging on to listen to Rush) and just wanted to thank you for having a sensible approach to this matter.

It is very disconcerting to me that a well organized leftist contingent in this country wants to silence conservative voices at the same time the President is taking a million dollars from someone like Bill Maher. This is not just ill-advised it is plainly un-American. Not that that will stop them. There is a growing agenda in this country within the Progressive movement to silence the opposition.

Please continue to stand for free speech.

I would also like to quickly share a perspective with you that might be useful to communicate to advertisers and other media people.

I have already expressed this strongly to the advertisers involved in the whole Rush fiasco, as have many others.

My husband and I are part of the middle class, perhaps even the upper middle class. We have disposable income and we buy stuff, go out to eat, sometimes take vacations. I WILL NOT make purchases from companies that kowtow to leftist fascism, period.

The left may have the millionaires, but there are only so many of them. They have a virtual deadlock on those on public assistance.

The conservatives in this country are made of people like me - the people who buy stuff. Don't mess with us - seriously. We may not be ready to pick up pitchforks, but we can and WILL hold onto our wallets.

Just got this response from the station manager: Your email made my day! You quite artfully stated the obvious belief of most conservative radio listeners. There seems to be an onslaught of those who wish to silence people who simply have a different opinion. How repugnant! Thanks for your thoughts. I’ve passed your email along to all of our advertising representatives. Re-read that last sentence - this can work! To arms (phones and computers, I mean) people!

These efforts to stifle Rush and other conservatives are just the beginning. If Obama is reelected watch for the FCC to come up with some new regulations to punish radio stations for carrying “hate speech” like Rush. Under a second Obama term I expect the only place we might get uncensored news and opinion will be by shortwave radio from beyond the Obama curtain.
