A contestant for Miss Texas USA has made history as the oldest person to compete for the state title. Marissa Teijo, 71, faced off against nearly 100 other competitors at the pageant in Houston, KVIA-TV reported. The pageant’s winner will go on to represent Texas in the Miss USA competition. A Travis County assistant district attorney was arrested Saturday morning on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following an argument with a roommate, according to an arrest affidavit. Joseph Frederick III, 51, was booked in the Travis County jail at 3:49 a.m. by the Austin Police Department, according to Travis County inmate records. Seventy-nine people were arrested in connection to the pro-Palestinian protest at the University of Texas on Monday, according to the Travis County sheriff’s office. Seventy-eight of those arrested were charged with criminal trespass, and one person received an additional charge of obstructing a highway or passageway, said Kristen Dark, sheriff's office public information officer. One person was also charged with interfering with public duties, Dark said. Unlike last week, the University of Texas Police Department was not the lone arresting agency. Administrators at the private Millikin University in Illinois will allow a longtime psychology professor to keep his job after learning that he killed his family in Georgetown in 1967 and was committed to a state mental hospital until 1974. The confetti-filled eggshells also must be clean and dry and for personal use, CBP said this week in a news release.
