I am over 60 years old. I have lived in Texas and New Mexico so I have seen the Central and South American brand of patrionage at work. This article is so damn true and right on the money that it rings bells. To gain this culturally ingrained form of patronage is the not so hidden motive behind our politicians. Not just "greed". Not just some idealistic "socialism" as we have known it. Hopefully, the voters in both parties will wake up to this, sooner rather than later. I'm glad someone has spelled it out.
2. The story only says "a teen". It does not identify the gender of the minor molested. Want to be it was a female? IOW this was a homosexual woman predating on minor girls.
What part of "the young girl" did you not read in the article?
See the movie March of the Penguins. The males and females mate for one year and take turns with the egg and offspring. One tending while the other treks to the sea to feed; a long, arduous trek where it's not uncommon for a parent to die.
The movie is kool. The DVD also has the filming of the movie which is at least as interesting as the movie itself.
Artistically, I agree. It has the same emotional projection as "The Scream".
Look at there size and height of it compared to that of a child. Even as an adult, to be in any room smaller than a football stadium with that painting would make me want to throw things.

Exactly! Brain tissue in a passive state is not growing, is not developing any cognitive connections, is in fact in a state of atrophy.
The opposite occurs when motor skills are put into play - ie. the development of any new skill that involves muscular coordination. Sports. Dance. Musical instruments. Handwriting. Drawing. Painting. Cutting and pasting. Assembly. - The very things that are being cut out of education. And sorry, but pushing buttons on a video game or keyboard is a piss poor substitute...learn it once and there is no more to learn at it.
I saw the chief engineer on TV last night. He said they intend to leave the breaks somewhat open because the lake is lower than the NO flood right now and that will drain some of the flooding into the lake naturally.
Main thing is to watch for upstream flooding and close the levy openings if a surge from upstream is coming.
