ICE vehicles typically require some outside influence (like a collision) to explode; the fun thing about EV’s is that they tend to go off on their own.

Spot on: for a fastball, a good spin rate is between 2,200 to 2,600 RPM, and for sliders, it ranges from 2,500 to 2,900 RPM (for context, 2,400 RPM would be 40 revolutions per second)

From Wikipedia (and not as biased as usual) including my additions in brackets:
“In 2013 [Stephen] Jimenez [himself a homosexual] published The Book of Matt, an analysis of the murder of Matthew Shephard. Jimenez first visited Laramie shortly after the murder, planning to write a screenplay and believing that the murder was a straightforward homophobic killing.[20] Jimenez spent 13 years researching the murder, and came to the conclusion that Matthew and one of the men convicted of his murder were involved in the illegal trade in crystal meth.[21][22] Jimenez has said his motivation for writing the book as a desire to show that “the popular narrative (of homophobic murder) served a purpose, but it’s only one thread of a bigger, richer, more challenging story whose lessons we have barely learned. To avoid topics of addiction, including how crystal meth ravaged the queer community (and Matt’s life), is not helpful to anyone.
[if I remember correctly, I think Jimenez even stated that it was probable that Shepard had engaged in sex with one of his killers]

“And they are nasty people who are irrational.”
‘Nasty’ - absolutely, but ‘irrational’, not so much. Fundamentally, they think they’re entitled to do whatever they can get away with to those they don’t like - after all, (in their minds), they’re better than us, they’re more sensitive than us, they care more than us, and since the truck obviously belonged to someone with traditional conservative values - and worse, was advertising the fact - that person clearly deserved to have something bad happen to them. One sees the exact same attitude in all these jerk-offs demonstrating across the country.

Your point is spot on - this bit in the article is as relevant to us as could be:
” Nazis began small. “No one is going to revolt over a sign,” like “No Jews allowed.” But of course that sign is just the first step. “The circle constricts a little more. They get used to obeying. To being pliable. We use them up till there is nothing left.”
I read this and I think of the Jewish professor who was blocked from going to his job at Columbia, and the Jewish pedestrian stopped by Brit cops from walking past a Palestine march in London.
