Since Free Republic has come back online, I can no longer access it using the Brave browser. The page loads, but as soon as my sidebar appears, the page errors and I get this message: The HTTP response body is transferred with Chunked-Encoding, but the terminating zero-length chunk was never sent when the connection is closed. Has anyone else experienced this and have a solution or an explanation?

The soon-to-be White House chief strategist laid out a global vision in a rare 2014 talk, one where he said racism in the far right gets “washed out” and called Vladimir Putin a kleptocrat. BuzzFeed News publishes the complete transcript for the first time.Well before victories for Brexit and Trump seemed possible, Bannon declared there was a “global tea party movement” and praised European far-right parties like Great Britain’s UKIP and France’s National Front. Bannon also suggested that a racist element in far-right parties “all gets kind of washed out,” that the West was facing a “crisis of capitalism” after...

To All Members of the University Community: As I’m sure many of you did, I watched the election coverage late into the night, and had the opportunity to visit with students and staff at a results-watching event sponsored by the Ginsberg Center at the Michigan Union. It will take quite some time to completely absorb the results from yesterday’s election, understand the full implications, and discern the long-term impact on our university and our nation. More immediately, in the aftermath of a close and highly contentious election we continue to embrace our most important responsibility as a university community. Our...

An Avowed Socialist is a Viable Candidate for President of the United States Let that headline sink in for a moment. I know what you’re thinking: Senator Sanders doesn’t have a chance. Before you get too much solace from that denial ridden and self-comforting thought, you’re missing the point. Put aside your desire to soothe your jagged nerves and consider that for the FIRST TIME in American history, an avowed socialist is a VIABLE candidate for President of the United States. How did we get here? Well, to begin with, Baby Boomers are no longer the largest demographic group in...

I have been following Dr. Anthony Napoleon @Napoleonlegal on Twitter. He is a forensic psychologist and author of a few books, one of which I am currently reading called Shadow Men. It's a very interesting read about those who really have been pulling the strings throughout history. I was just curious if any other Freepers out there have stumbled upon him. His tweets are interesting and thought provoking. Maybe worth a "follow".

I've been here since 2000 and have always wondered why there is an asterisk in the Search box. I always delete it before I type in my search. Why is it there? Should I be leaving it there when I do my search?

I do most of my internet use on my iPad. Often, particularly on Facebook, if I'm trying to view a video, my screen will go black right when I get to the meat of the video. This just happened now when I was trying to watch Santorum's comments on The Morning Joe. I notice this happens often to videos linked through The Blaze. In order to watch the enitre thing, I need to search through Facebook again, hope I can find it, and that it won't crash again. Is anyone else experiencing this? Could it be a function of a...

When I visit certain websites, Target.com, eBay.com, and Hertz.com, I am redirected (don't know if that is the proper term) within a couple of seconds to a Yahoo search page. I also discovered this morning that the same thing happens when I visit Google.com and wait about 30 seconds. I have searched for solutions to this problem and have not found a solution which seems to address this problem specifically. Last week I did find a suggestion to try a list of different things including: system restore, which wouldn't work, and running my Trend Micro Antivirus and Housecall in safe...

My husband wants to legally donate to candidates before the election but wishes to stay off mailing lists. (We have managed to get on about 100 by donating during previous election cycles.) He was wondering about sending cash in amounts less than $200 in an envelope with no return address. I apologize for this vanity, but my husband really wanted input from others on this topic.

In the last 3 months I have received about 300 pieces of mail from 88 sources, all political causes, asking for money. This is an invasion of my privacy. How do I make these go away? This is angering as I wish to support conservative causes, but these incessant requests are irritating the hell out of me. I will choose when and where I give. Letters and calls do no good. I thought of getting a P.O Box #, changing a credit card address to the P.O. Box, and sending change of address letters to these 88 in the hopes...

My husband and I want to donate money to an entity that is running effective anti-Obamacare ads. I thought this might be a useful thread for those who are ready to do likewise. We watch very little TV with commercials but have seen some good ones and don't remember who is sponsoring them. Any recommendations from those of you who have donated already?

DETROIT -- Detroiters on Tuesday elected basketball legend Dave Bing as their mayor, sweeping incumbent Ken Cockrel Jr. from office and giving the ex-Pistons great at least through the end of the year to make a dent in the city's myriad problems.

(April 28) - Frank Beckmann talks with Paul Rahe. He holds the Charles O. Lee and Louise K. Lee Chair in the Western Heritage at Hillsdale College and has authored four books, about despotism and President Obama's friendship with dictators. He is the author of Soft Despotism, Democracy's Drift: Montesquieu, Rousseau, Tocqueville, and the Modern Prospect

As a rock aficionado, U.S. Representative Thaddeus G. McCotter (MI-11) might appreciate our reliance on a bootlegged transcript of remarks he's delivering at today's Tea Party rally at Kellog Park in Plymouth, Michigan: From the G-20 summit in England to factories in France to the streets of our nation, we live amid a chaotic age. Thus, we peaceably assemble to stop the chaos and its consequences.

(WXYZ) -- An attempted bank robbery in Canton (MI) played out like a scene from a movie Monday when a man who police say claimed to have a bomb was stopped by a customer armed with a pistol.

DETROIT -- A federal grand jury indicted a high-ranking Detroit immigration official of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, and four other metro Detroit men on multiple counts of bribery, conspiracy and extortion. ----------- The indictment charges state that Bailey misused his position as the assistant district director with the INS by accepting large sums of money and other property in return for granting immigration benefits, including the release of several people who were in INS and DHS-ICE custody. ----------- The federal jury also indicted Mohamad Arzouni, 59, of Dearborn Heights, and Mohammad Bazzi, 61, a former Detroit resident...
