I have been a republican for over 20 years now. I am conservative in my beliefs. I am a construction electrician and a member of a union. I catch hell every election from people I work with over the way I vote. I believe that abortion is wrong. I believe that special intrests are wrong. As I understand it the term "Black Pope" refers to a Pope who is also a Jesuit. I was raised a Catholic and I have to admit that I am woefully ignorant about this. Has there ever been a Jesuit Pope?. If there were one would he wear black? With John Paul II in bad health, what do you think the chances are of a jesuit becoming the next pope. Enquiring minds want to know!!! My fathers side of the family is Irish so Ive seen enough catholic, protestant fighting...lets not start one on this thread.

Ive noticed alot of threads on FR that mention Christianity. I was wondering, how do you define yourself as a Christian? Does merely professing oneself a Christian make you one? Im curious, how do you perceive the Christian faith?
