Will GOP Chairman Rebuke Conservative's Vile Hate Speech?Washington, DC — Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe today said he would be personally monitoring the Republican National Committee’s website anxiously waiting for Chairman Ed Gillespie to repudiate comments made by a right wing columnist comparing Senate Democrats to Nazis. Gillespie recently took to the airwaves to express outrage over an ad posted at the Moveon.org web site that used images of Adolph Hitler. Despite giving the ad more play on the RNC web site than it had in its entire existence on MoveOn's site, Gillespie called it: "the worst and most...

So I was surfing around, hitting my normal spots, which admittedly include some of the left-wing disinformation outlets, and came across this little blurb at the bottom of of an article written by one who will be familiar to some of us here(published by a website familiar to some of us here as well) I just couldn't help but get a chuckle out of this: Armed only with a computer, a modem and a self-proclaimed IQ of 68, Bartcop is the webmaster of Knuckledrag, Oklahoma's most famous website, Bartcop.com, where he extols the virtues of fine tequila when not making ...

From this guy's site: "Leave it to Marty....She knows what happened: Oh, and a side-note on the 'boo-ing of Hillary' at the McCartney concert---in reviewing the tape, something happened during the ending of Macy Gray's set....the chorus sang a line, and she shot them a look that would have chilled Datan's soul, and then she walked off, before the number was finished. There are a couple of beats missed, and then, frantically, there's Paul Shaffer cueing the back-up singers to finish the chorus, they do, the band crescendo's and the song 'ends'. I believe what was perceived as booing for ...

  • Two Thoughts on The Constitution

    august 22, 2001 | poster at a board
    1. Back in '33 FDR declared a state of emergency which suspended the Constitution. Neither FDR nor any following President has ended that state of emergency. So, technically, the Constitution is still not in effect. 2. Further back, in the 19th century, an anarchist lawyer named Lysander Spooner pointed out that under common law the Constitution only applies to those that voted for it (white, propertied males alive in 1789). So no one in America today (unless they're over 212 years old) is bound by the Constitution or by any government that derives its powers from the Constitution.

Four million acres of land in Northern Alaska, in the north-eastern corner of the National Petroleum Reserve, are to be opened up for oil drilling under a plan announced on August 6 by Bruce Babbitt, the United States Interior Secretary despite strong protests by environmental groups. Government officials estimate that area contains from 500 million to 2.2 billion barrels of recoverable oil reserves. The 23 million-acre reserve was established in 1923 for the Navy. The area was transferred to the Interior Department in 1976, under the condition that oil development in the reserve not be allowed without Congress' approval. The ...

Apology?...Well..... There has been quite a buzz about whether President Bush actually issued an apology, per the request of China, or not regarding the mishap between our Navy EP-3E and their F-8. Essentially, we did...but we did not apologize for the accident. Instead, we apologized for a situation that would usually not need to be justified otherwise. As a student pilot, one of the first things I ever learned was emergency procedures while in flight. I learned how to handle engine failures and communications, as well as emergency landings. I've never had to make an emergency landing, but I've had ...

Discovering a group of same-sex soulmates within a passionate cause in the contemporary political sphere has hardly ever been a blip on my radar map. Outside of libertarian affiliations, I never expect to meet women who have more knowledge of the right to secession than they do insight on the content of Lifetime channel’s Sunday Night Movie starring Armand Assante and a washed-up Jaclyn Smith. After all, most women whom I work with, or come in contact with on a day-to-day basis, think that Rosie O’Donnell is brilliant, they believe that any organization with the catch-word "children" in it must ...

If I Were Bill Clinton by anonymous It's reached a point where he has to say something. He could sit there in silence, but he needs to show America what is going on. If I were Clinton, I'd buy a full page ad in one of the major newspapers and ask them to print something like this; Hi, I'm Bill Clinton. I'm the most investigated man in history. The Republican party and their subsidiaries (Judicial Watch, The Heritage Foundation, Tim Russert, The Rutherford Institute, Rush Limbaugh, Peperdine University, Fox News, etc.) have treated me to 8+ years of accusations with ...

I didn't get to see all of Bush's speech last night, but what I saw was fantastic. Sincere and to the point....I finally don't cringe at the thought of a televised Presidential address. Maybe I wasn't paying attention, but I didn't see any teleprompters. I think I recall one Clinton address where the teleprompters were very obvious to the camera, and additionally, wasn't one Clinton address postponed because of a problem with the teleprompters? While I would be severely impressed if Bush did that speech without teleprompters, I'm sure he had some technological assistance (nothing wrong with that). Do they ...

After many years of illness, Ronald Reagan was very ill and it appeared that he might not pull through. Obviously, Nancy and the rest of the family were at his side, as well as the family minister. Knowing that his time might be short, they asked if there was anything that he wanted. "Yes," he replied, "I'd like very much to have Bill and Hillary Clinton at my side before I go." > > They were all amazed at this request and several assumed that his memory was failing even worse than they had suspected. Regardless, they went ahead and ...

As a young boy, I came to this country escaping Communism. Very early in my education, I learned how lucky I was to be able to partake in a system of government where the individual’s right to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” was tantamount. I was thrilled to be part of such a great country, based on such noble ideals. When I was old enough, I gladly and proudly became a United States Citizen. As part of the freedom that we enjoy, the Media served as the upholder of the civic conscience by giving information in an unfettered ...

Just thought some points in here were interesting: "Conservatism is for the Intellectually lazy......." "This is not to imply that most conservatives are stupid, but Conservatism as we understand it today doesn't appeal to most intellectuals, who look for intricate arguments and solutions beyond the pedestrian. To put it bluntly, progressive politics don't make for good sound bytes. Particularly on issues of policy, conservative ideas are oft void of logic, fair-mindness or reason. What they are strong are brevity and simplicity. True solutions to our economic and social ills always require sacrifice, commitment and long-sightedness. Modern conservatism appeals to the ...

Take out a one dollar bill and look at it. The dollar bill you're looking at first came off the presses in 1957 in its present design. This so-called "paper money" is in fact a cotton and linen blend with red and blue minute silk fibers running through it. Its actually material....and we've all washed it without it falling apart. A special blend of ink is used, the contents we will never know. The bill is overprinted with symbols and then starched to make it water resistant and pressed to give it that nice crisp look. If you look on ...

Washington -- AS A STORY-TELLING U.S. senator, Alan Simpson was famous for tales as tall as he stands himself: 6-foot-7. But when I caught up with the 69-year-old in his native Cody, Wyo., last week, he was ready with a wild one -- but every inch the truth. It was about a couple of Boy Scouts and took place at the time of World War II. "One week, the scoutmaster told us we were going out to the 'Jap camp.' That's what we called it back then." He was talking about the giant internment camp where 11,000 Japanese Americans were ...

WASHINGTON, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- The controversial last minute pardon granted by then-President Clinton to fugitive financier Marc Rich will face Congressional scrutiny, it was announced Thursday. The House Government Reform Committee chairman Dan Burton, R-Ind., vowed to investigate the pardon and took the first step toward congressional hearings Thursday. "The American people have a right to know why the president made his decision so that the constitutional power to grant pardons will not be abused in the future," Burton said Thursday. "I made requests for documents from the relevant federal agencies and certain persons involved in the pardoning of ...
