Bob Arnott was just on MSNBC reporting that he had traveled to many of the hospitals in the area and assisted in the care for the many children in the facilities that have been struck by gunfire (he's also a doctor). NBC News is reporting that F-16s dropped two precision-guided bombs on the residence of "Chemical" Ali just south of Basra. The Pentagon is telling them that they believe Ali was in his home at the time and was killed during the strike. They caution that they need to have confirmation on the ground to be sure, but it sounds like a good hit!

Dexter Filkins just reported on MSNBC to report that American Forces moved to the city limits of Basra in S. Iraq. They took the airport and stopped at the city limits and he inidicated that they won't go in unless fired upon. They want to avoid street fighting and won't progress until Baghdad falls.
