It's a good point but a little beyond the scope of my article. If the injunctions of the Ten Commandments have no moral force with today's youth because it is too "judgmental" or a product of western civilization there have to be bad consequences.
For historical analysis I would start with the series of books first published starting in 1776, "The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire" by Gibbon. Evidence of a more current nature is provided by interviews with young criminals which indicate a lack of remorse and no acceptance of any moral standard. Earlier crooks at least realized they were doing wrong.
