Since this time in 2022 my electric rate has gone up 20%. I expect it will go even higher. The damage done to the supply of power will not be recovered. Plants that were paid for are gone and replaced by higher cost and higher cost of fuel plants mandated by biden and epa. Are you better off than you were four years ago? NOT ME.

The S&P 500 is having an incredible year. The benchmark U.S. stock market index is up 19.7% on the year as bulls test the resistance around 4600. For Stifel’s analysts, known for accurately predicting the rally in the first half of 2023, this rally has largely played out. The analysts upgraded their mid-2024 price target for the S&P 500 to 4650 from 4400 previously.

Please suffer me this infrequent vanity post. I want to make readers aware of what looks to me like a hazard and see if anyone else has heard of it or knows how it can be done. We have some smart people on many subjects in these pages. It looks to me like AARP-United Health Care may have some kind of security problem and since Wednesday morning and 5 calls, 2 with supervisors, I have gotten no satisfaction to correct it or protect my account. Maybe someone on here understands what is taking place. I don't unless someone is either...

SALLISAW, Okla. — A Sallisaw police captain crashed into a pursuit suspect head-on, preventing him from getting near a crowded festival on Saturday. Police were following the driver when he got near a crowded area where children were attending the Diamond Daze Festival, according to a City of Sallisaw social media post. Sallisaw Police Captain John Weber used his patrol vehicle to crash into the driver, stopping the pursuit from getting any closer to the event.

Built by the University of Chicago in 1897 in Williams Bay, Wisconsin, Yerkes Observatory is home to the world’s largest refracting telescope and famous astronomers like George Ellery Hale, Edwin Hubble and Carl Sagan worked and studied there. ...as newer technology emerged the Great Refractor became less relevant, and the university closed the observatory in 2018. A non-profit formed by residents in the nearby Lake Geneva area took control, and in 2020 that group, Yerkes Future Foundation, embarked on a $20 million renovation effort.... Weighing about 82 tons, the Great Refractor is the world’s largest refracting telescope. The University of...

The Biden administration doesn’t anticipate selling offshore drilling rights in the Gulf of Mexico through at least October 2023, effectively stretching a delay in that activity to a third year, according to economic projections included in its newly released budget proposal.

Some U.S. lawmakers are seizing on the energy price surge to revive long-standing legislation that would subject the OPEC oil cartel to the same antitrust laws used more than century ago to break up Standard Oil’s monopoly.

For the twenty countries currently most affected by COVID-19 worldwide, the bars in the chart below show the number of deaths either per 100 confirmed cases (observed case-fatality ratio) or per 100,000 population (this represents a country’s general population, with both confirmed cases and healthy people). Countries at the top of this figure have the most deaths proportionally to their COVID-19 cases or population, not necessarily the most deaths overall.
  • Under Biden Plan,The IRS Would Know a Lot More About Your Bank Accounts (report every single transaction in our out of accounts over $600)

Simply put, the American Families Plan calls for banks and other financial institutions to report more than just a taxpayer’s interest earned, capital gains and losses. Banks and other financial institutions would also be required to report “aggregate account outflows and inflows.” In other words, the IRS will know about all of your bank accounts, whether you earned income on that account or not, how much is in the account in a given year, and how much was transferred in and out of the account.

Overnight, 12 US Air Force C-17 cargo jets removed 2,000 people from the region - an average of just 160 people per flight, despite the planes being able to carry 600 people - six fewer aircraft than in the previous 24 hours. Since August 14, the US has only removed 7,000 people in total from the region. Only 300 of those who flew out were American and officials can't give a breakdown of who else was on the planes or whether or not they had the right paperwork to be there.

The man wanted in connection with multiple shootings in Oklahoma was captured Thursday afternoon in Dallas. The search for him took more than a dozen city, county, tribal, and federal agencies to track down Lee King. King is accused of shooting three people over a five-day period. "This is somebody who's ruthless. He was armed and dangerous, and we were able to get him off the streets before he could do this to someone else," said Oklahoma City police Master Sgt. Gary Knight. ..... The violent crime spree started Saturday morning at the OSU-OKC campus. Police said King flagged a...

As anticipated, insurance rates are going up not just a little. Received my annual bill yesterday. It reflects an 18% increase in premium. All of the increase is in the replacement cost. None of it is an increase in insurance rate. If you haven't already you'll get your bundle of joy soon. Covid is the gift that keeps on giving.

The fools at the IRS have done it again. Make change where there is no need for change and adding to taxpayer burden. The IRS is using a new 1099 this year for Miscellaneous Income. We now have to use Form 1099-NEC for Non-employee Compensation. Copy A of the Form 1099-NEC from the IRS website is not scannable therefore, it cannot be filed as the IRS copy. You can order the forms by visiting www.IRS.gov.orderforms or they can be purchased in stores. You can look at the form and download it but it is plastered with all manner of warnings...

Who am I? I am a Black man who happens to be the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force. I am George Floyd…I am Philando Castile, I am Michael Brown, I am Alton Sterling, I am Tamir Rice. Just like most of the Black Airmen and so many others in our ranks…I am outraged at watching another Black man die on television before our very eyes. What happens all too often in this country to Black men who are subjected to police brutality that ends in death…could happen to me. As shocking as that may sound to some of...

Nothing interferes with The Old Guard’s mission in Arlington—and when I say nothing, I mean nothing, not even 9/11. On that beautiful morning, the 9 o’clock funerals were underway when American Airlines Flight 77 slammed into the Pentagon, blasting debris across Washington Boulevard into the cemetery’s southeastern corner. The Old Guard’s Medical Platoon rushed to the scene, becoming the first soldiers to deploy to a battlefield in the War on Terror. Yet those funerals continued. So did the 10 o’clock funerals. And the 11 o’clock funerals. Over the next month, even as hundreds of Old Guard soldiers pulled guard duty...

Just an observation that has been made so many times before but the media are as unrelenting and unashamed and of course unapologetic as ever. I seldom watch the news and never watch PBS but my wife had the PBS nightly business report on. In just two minutes you can learn the whole world is falling apart and we will all be dead or enslaved by the republicans soon if we are not already amongst their dead and rotting victims or chained galley slaves. It isn't always the news content of course, it is the spin and the breathless frantic...
