So I get a call this morning from a polling company. (I like getting these political survey calls; I like making the callers laugh.) The questions all concerned the possible special election for Kay-Baby's Senate seat, which she swears she will vacate (I have my doubts). Although the poller asked about many candidates, the questions all seemed to center around Democrat John Sharp. Local ABC television affiliate KVUE-TV news led off tonight with a breaking report of a "suspicious white powder" found on a sorting machine at the main post office here in Austin, Texas. (This is the post office on Cross Creek, not the one downtown.) The powder was found around 8:15pm local time. The post office has been evacuated, first responders are on the scene, and the postal inspectors are on their way. Preliminary tests have come back positive for a protein in the powder.
