Sorry Bray. Gonna disagree with you on this one. There’s a strong conservative case for EVs that has little/nothing to do with appeasing the environwackos.
1. Economics. EV’s are more expensive, true, but the price is quickly coming down. And the cost of running one is significantly less. Do the math and see that the cost of electric is roughly a dollar to $1.50 a gallon equivalent when charging at home. Lower maintenance costs too.
2. Less pollution or more accurately moving pollution from urban areas to less populated areas.
3. Reliance on American not foreign energy. By definition, power has to be generated in the US or Canada.
4. Improved economics for coal.
5. More fun to drive. Forget the old muscle cars. EV’s FLY!
6. More freedom. With ICE you’re tethered to gas stations. With EV, any 220 outlet is a gas station. You can also generate your own.
7. No real loss of ICE vehicles. It’s not like your old car won’t be used. There is a huge market in exporting US used cars to other countries.
Elon Musk did NOT buy twitter because of censoring the Babylon Bee. He bought it because he is a multi-billionaire who smells lots of money to be made. Given his record it might make him a trillionaire.
Nope. “Gun control” never does make sense. Nonetheless, this moves things forward and would be a significant win. The legislature can attack the gun registration requirements next year. As the leftists love to say “this is an important first step…”
