My senior citizen father has donated to numerous GOP candidates and causes on email solicitation and texting. Numerous charges are being brought by an organization billed as "Win Red" they send emails that link the option to edit your account or amounts you're donating. However the links lead to dead ends, there is no way to get a password reset to try and delete donations. We have cancelled credit cards, changed debit cards and seemingly nothing is stopping automated donations monthly. Has anyone had experience with this, has to be, criminal fundraising by the GOP? Because it looks and sounds...

The popular American Girl doll brand is facing backlash for pushing kids into changing their gender in a recent book marketed to young girls. The recently released book, titled A Smart Girl's Guide: Body Image, contains lines that give advice to prepubescents on how to change their gender - seemingly without their guardians' blessing. Parents have since based the book's contents as 'deceptive and dangerous,' citing the messages it looks to sending to its impressionable demographic. The 96-page handbook - billed as a 'guide' - is marketed to girls aged 3 to 12, and instructs them on how to make...

NEW YORK -- Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving says he turned down a four-year extension prior to the 2021-22 season because of his decision not to get vaccinated against COVID-19. "I gave up four years, 100-and-something million deciding to be unvaccinated and that was the decision," Irving said during Nets media day on Monday. "[Get this] contract, get vaccinated or be unvaccinated and there's a level of uncertainty of your future, whether you're going to be in this league, whether you're going to be on this team, so I had to deal with that real-life circumstance of losing my job...

Former President Barack Obama announced Sunday that he has tested positive for Covid-19. "I've had a scratchy throat for a couple days, but am feeling fine otherwise," he said on his official Twitter account. Mr. Obama also said that his wife, former first lady Michelle Obama, has tested negative. "Michelle and I are grateful to be vaccinated and boosted," the former president said in a Facebook post. "It's a good reminder that, even as cases go down, you should get vaccinated and boosted if you haven't already to help prevent more serious symptoms and giving COVID to others." Mr. Obama...

This is something I have been perplexed about or at least had questions about. I understand Poland has offered the Ukraine their MiG-29's hoping to replace them with American F-16's. I understand that the Biden administration put a stop for that. 43 Republican Senators want to push the deal, which won't happen. However my question is this; of what use would aircraft do in this particular situation without AWACS or airborne command and control? Most air to air combat seems to be over the horizon as opposed to dogfighting. Would they not have to turn on their radars to look...

CNN President Jeff Zucker announced to his staff Wednesday morning that he is resigning immediately from his role at the cable news network, which he has led since January 2013. Zucker said in a statement that his decision stemmed from him not disclosing a “consensual relationship” with his “closest colleague” when it first began. “I certainly wish my tenure here had ended differently,” he wrote. “But it was an amazing run. And I loved every minute.” Zucker oversaw all of WarnerMedia’s live programming, including all divisions of CNN and Turner Sports. That includes CNN, CNN International, HLN and CNN’s digital...

THE CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 HAS UPENDED everything, including business as usual in Washington. In a matter of days, facing the reality of a nationwide shutdown and a worsening economic crisis, Congress got serious about spending money—a lot of it. A recovery package in the trillions of dollars is expected soon, and more stimulus bills are likely to follow. While the most powerful lobbies in Washington—the airlines, the oil companies, the chambers of commerce—are ready with their wish lists, the media and policymakers aren’t talking enough about how recovery and stimulus bills could help journalism. Free Press, the independent, nonprofit advocacy organization...

I have a very serious question here. Has impeachment taught us the past 2 years that the only thing you have to do to get away with any crime is declare yourself a Presidential candidate of the opposing party of who is in office? I’ve been thinking about this on a serious basis because of the absurd circumstances we find ourselves in as a nation. If the FBI or any alphabet agency is investigating me from crimes overseas, domestically or internationally is the answer to declare myself a Presidential candidate of the opposing and threaten the sitting President with obstructing...

An Uber driver who said he was being choked from behind by one of his passengers as they tussled outside the vehicle in South Oakland early Tuesday drew his handgun, reached behind his head and shot his assailant, grazing him, police said. That shot allowed Andrew Farkosh to get away from Phillip Pesano and his three friends, who had assaulted the driver and tried to steal his car keys, according to a criminal complaint. Mr. Farkosh ran into a Sunoco station at Craft and Forbes avenues. When Pittsburgh police arrived on the scene around 1:49 a.m., they found Mr. Pesano...

Online personalities in far-right and white nationalist online circles are attempting to attribute racism and anti-Semitism to an image of cartoon character Pepe the Frog depicted poorly drawn and as a clown, and that effort has gained notable traction in recent months. Far-right proponents want the broader internet to believe the character directly represents their worldview, but the situation in whole represents an attitude shift in far-right circles online and a slow inching toward even more radical elements of the movement. The clown render of Pepe the Frog, which KnowYourMeme researchers have identified as being known as “Honk Honk” or...

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — Two young men were found dead inside torched cars. Three others died of apparent suicides. Another collapsed on a bus, his death ruled an overdose. Six deaths, all involving men with connections to protests in Ferguson, Missouri, drew attention on social media and speculation in the activist community that something sinister was at play. Police say there is no evidence the deaths have anything to do with the protests stemming from a white police officer’s fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown, and that only two were homicides with no known link to the protests. But some...

I've been living in Cincinnati 50% of the time this year and I am so glad Aftab Pureval and Jill Schiller both lost. I got so tired of seeing their happy smiling "I'm an immigrant." "I'm a mom." ads over and over and over while streaming shows. They spoke nothing about their stances, nothing about their backgrounds, presented no ideas, just happy happy fluff. Which, since they're Democrats, means they're card carrying communists from the Obama administration (Which Jill was.). I am happy to see all of the Senate flips of course but for some reason these House races really...

While “Mean Girls Day” is being marked Wednesday in reference to a mention of Oct. 3 in the popular 2004 cult movie, the parents of a former Seneca Valley High School student claim in a federal lawsuit filed this week that their teenage son was terrorized by false accusations made by five “Mean Girls” at the school. Michael J. and Alecia Flood of Zelienople, Butler County, the parents of a teenage boy identified in the lawsuit as T.F., seek unspecified civil damages against the girls’ parents, the school district and Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger’s office. The lawsuit alleges...

The NFL and a group of players reached an agreement in principle late Wednesday night to partner on a plan to address social justice issues considered important to African-American communities, ESPN has learned. The unprecedented agreement calls for the league to contribute nearly $100 million over seven years to projects dealing with criminal justice reform, law enforcement/community relations and education. During a conference call Wednesday night, Malcolm Jenkins and Anquan Boldin, who lead roughly 40 players who have negotiated with the league office about demonstrations during the national anthem, guided the group through the highlights of the package, which represents...

INDIANAPOLIS — Consumer electronics chain hhgregg Inc. is going out of business and shutting down all its stores. Founded in 1955, the retailer had 220 stores in 19 states selling major appliances like washers and TVs, as well as computers and home theater systems. As of May last year, it had about 5,000 employees. Just days before announcing its bankruptcy protection filing last month, hhgregg said it planned to trim down by closing three distribution centers and 88 stores. But the move was not enough to salvage the chain.

When you think of milk, what first comes to your mind? If you’re a millennial, you probably think of strong bones, Got Milk? commercials, or maybe eating your favorite cereal while watching cartoons on a Saturday morning. What about racism? White nationalism? If you’re having trouble finding the connection between these institutions and milk, you’re not alone. You, along with the rest of the nation, have been so accustomed to hearing the benefits of milk that you probably didn’t even realize the subtle racism hidden in our health facts. It may not surprise you that the United States was founded...

They were invited to Trump's official victory party. Something made me think of them today so I thought I'd post this.
