Hello. For those fans of the Ghost in the Shell anime/manga sagas, I should warn you, DO NOT buy the new Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocences DVD released by Dreamworks. The DVD is messed up. Not only did Dreamwork not included a English dub to it, but the English subtitle to the movie itself is in 'closed caption' ONLY (white text in black bars) and instead if it being in the at the bottom of the screen in the bottom black bar (GitS2:I is widescreen) it is near the center in the animation picture itself in large font no...
  • Unwanted Free Republic Subscriptions; I cannot turn it off. Help-Vanity

I click the link in my favorites for the FR Hompage, but it took me to a subscriptions page(which I have never signed up for in the first place). I clicked the unsubscribe link, the did not want. I went to the subscription page my personal FR Profile and de-clicked all subscriptions (which I never click 'on' in the first place), but it refuses to let me unsubscribe from any of them. I have done everything in my power to fix this on my own and it does not work. I could use some help.
  • Remember Gargoyles; A Very Good Cartoon Series (Vanity)

    03/29/2004 2:08:23 PM PST · by Paul C. Jesup · 35 replies · 3,566+ views
Hello. For you fans of good anime/animation; reruns of a VERY GOOD cartoon series called Gargoyles is returning to basic cable/satellite. If you don't remember or have never heard of it, Gargoyles is the only GREAT cartoon series that Disney produced (please don’t hold the fact that it was produced by Disney, against it). It was action/drama series with an excellent plot and well thought-out characters. It was produced in 1994, in the same vain as Fox's Batman The Animated Series, with that dark gothic style, BUT BETTER!! The show is about a group of honorable gargoyles in 994 AD...
  • If Hillary Clinton runs, the effects of the announcement itself would hurt conservatives.(Vanity)

It occurred to me today that if Hillary Clinton announced she was running for President or VP, it would IMMEDIATELY all but destroy what little pull we conservatives have in D.C. The reason this would be the case is that if Hillary Clinton ran it would be like giving President Bush a blank check to be as socialist as he wants, because we conservatives would rather crawl on glass than see Hillary Clinton anywhere near the White House, let alone her being President or VP of this nation and HE KNOWS IT!! For example he could give all 8 to...
  • The Emperor has no clothes or how there is NO U.S. National Deficit/Debt.(Vanity)

    02/03/2004 4:00:17 AM PST · by Paul C. Jesup · 56 replies · 414+ views
Considering how Democrats, and some Republicans, prop up the 7 Trillion-Dollar U.S. National Deficit as a reason to keep from passing even the smallest of tax cuts. Well there is NO U.S. Deficit. A deficit or debt implies that you intend to pay the borrowed money back someday, which is NOT the case with the U.S. Federal Government. The U.S. Government for the past 70 years has been borrowing like no tomorrow and not ONCE in the last 70 years has the U.S. Government EVER even paid off a penny of that debt. Yes, over the years there has been...
  • Why the Blade Runner Special Edition DVD has not been release (Vanity)

The NY Times has named names on why the Blade Runner Special Edition 3-DVD set is on hold. It is their report, not mine. They say, "The avidly awaited, definitive version of Ridley Scott's science-fiction classic, "Blade Runner," won't be out on DVD anytime soon for stranger reasons. When "Blade Runner" was being shot in the early 1980's, Bud Yorkin, a veteran television comedy producer, and Jerry Perenchio, now the C.E.O. of Univision, were the film's bond-completion guarantors. When the film went over budget, by contract they assumed ownership of the film. Paul Sammon wrote in his book "Future Noir:...
  • MPAA, RIAA seek permanent antitrust exemption (HOLLYWOOD ELITEST HYPOCRISY ALERT!!)

Just weeks after an antitrust suit was filed against the RIAA by webcasters, the music labels' lobby group, is, along with Hollywood, seeking a permanent exemption from similar litigation. The proposal seeks to extend the exemption to anything covering mechanical copyright: a sweeping extension of the copyright cartel's immunity. It's buried away in a piece of legislation co-sponsored by Senator Orrin Hatch called the EnFORCE Act, or the Enhancing Federal Obscenity Reporting and Copyright Enforcement Act of 2003. With 12-year old girls being threatened with $150,000 fines, and the computer industry embracing social engineering technologies such as locked music, you...
  • (Vanity) Northeast Blackouts The blame game begins. Yankees blaming the Southeast.

    08/15/2003 8:23:26 PM PDT · by Paul C. Jesup · 36 replies · 192+ views
I was surfing the TV channels when I watched a second of O'Reilly, and I heard a former Energy Sec. blame the SOUTHeastern Electric companies for the current Northeastern Blackouts. Something like that turns my stomach. It must a Yankee/Northeastern genetic trait to blame the Southerners in some way for their problems Well my reply to these arrogant Yankees is; unlike you Yankees, we Southerners in Georgia understand that if you need more power, YOU BUILD MORE POWERPLANTS!!!! We Georgians have no energy problems.

  • Lastest Terrorists/Anti-Drug Ads, bad taste, insult to intelligence or just plain sickening (Vanity)

First, I am a young white male, I am a diehard conservative, I don't do drugs, nor do I smoke or drink. I don't have so much as a parking ticket. These lastest Terrorists/Anti-Drug Ads are getting worse, and by that I don't mean they are in just bad taste, but they are an actual insult to intelligent people. They are actually worse than the truth.com/anti-smoking ads, their that bad. The last one I saw today (the one with the little girl) made me want to physically vomit. Everyone I have talked to all hate these ads. They, like me,...
  • Is Paramount guilty of putting a subliminal message in New Enterprise Series

It seems Paramount is guilty of slipping a subliminal message into the Enterprise Series itself. This message is not in the foreground, like the UPN logo/symbol on the lower right part of the television. This message is in the background of the picture itself, in clear/white bold. The message is: Technical operations center Stage 30 Hollywood California Paramount Television The New Enterprise Series is becoming a decent-to-good Sci-Fi show. And at the very least, superimposing this image in the background itself, ruins the quality on the picture and experience of watching the show itself.

  • James Traficant interview on FOX News

    04/22/2002 9:10:10 PM PDT · by Paul C. Jesup · 23 replies · 9+ views
Hello. Did anyone besides me tonight see the James Traficant interview on FOX News, On the Record with Greta Van Susteren? I found the interview to be both insightful and entertaining. It was the best 25 minutes of TV I have seen all day. It was basically James Traficant unplugged. If you missed the interview, it will repeat at 3:00 AM Eastern time tonight on Fox News. It is worth watching. Also I look forward to seeing the second part of the interview tomorrow night at 10:00 PM.
  • Would you trade Higher Taxes for getting rid of the IRS?

    04/14/2002 8:58:33 AM PDT · by Paul C. Jesup · 9 replies · 50+ views
If you could get rid of the IRS in exchange for higher taxes, would you be willing to do that? By that I mean getting rid of the IRS/income tax (with it’s bureaucracy, paper work & corruption) and replacing it with a flat tax or sales tax, at a higher tax rate. The reason I ask this is because the only way (barring armed revolt) that we are going to get rid of the IRS is that we HAVE TO SEPRERATE the tax issue from the bureaucratic (IRS) issue.

  • Benchtest question/request about the new AMD XP 2000 CPU

    01/19/2002 1:49:56 PM PST · by Paul C. Jesup · 5 replies · 21+ views
Hello. I have a question/request for the computer PC experts on Free Republic. My question is this. Has anyone done a comparison benchtest on the performance of the AMD XP 2000 CPU processor between the Windows 2000 Pro OS and Windows XP OS? If so, what were the results. The reason why I ask every benchtest I have seen between W2K Pro and XP, that W2K Pro beat XP. The reason why that is, is because XP is just W2K with a lot of bells and whistles. And those bells and whistles hold XP back when compared to W2K Pro. ...

For ten years I have gone to several Churchs. And the one thing I have learned from my time sent in those Church is that their silence toward TRUE EVILS is deafening. Yes, Churchs do preach out against homosexuality, greed, lust and other low key sins. But by what I mean by TRUE EVILS, is evil that bites back. Evil that if you do not speak out against it, it will eventually corrupt you and take control of you by the means of fear, brute force, and/or temptation of greed and power. The evils I am talking about is evils ...

I am tried of radical environmentalists using laws to destroy people, families and entire communities. I have a simple solution that may solve this problem. WE use the same laws they use to DESTROY THEM. They have to live somewhere. We find them and give them a choose. Either they stop supporting these bad and corrupt laws. Or WE use these same bad and corrupt laws to DESTROY THEM. What do you all think of my solution?
  • During Times of War. Should Female Soldiers be sent to prison for getting pregnant?

    09/29/2001 12:04:15 PM PDT · by Paul C. Jesup · 182 replies · 728+ views
Hello all. During Times of War. Should Female Soldiers be sent to prison for getting pregnant? By that I mean. Should a woman, who is in the Military or Reserves, gets pregnant for the sole reason of avoiding her duty, overseas or wherever, to her country, which she took an oath to when she joined the Military or Reserves, be sent to prison? I personally believe she should be sent to prison, because ethically this is no different than male solider shooting himself in the foot to avoid his duty in the Military or Reserves. Please, I do not want ...
