With a lot of headlines warning of electrical blackouts this summer, I was looking for a reliable, decent, portable emergency radio. I've seen a number of them online, but I don't trust the reviews. Many of the reviews are praising a cheap unit, or whining why a $30 radio doesn't perform like a $1000 one. Any input or discussion would be appreciated. I did a search, but I didn't see this topic.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—As the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the legality of OSHA's vaccine requirement, the nation collectively gasped at the realization that our fate is now in the hands of 8 dummies and Clarance Thomas. "Wow, I had no idea it was this bad. They're all complete idiots," said local HVAC repairman Joe Bob Smith who was standing outside the Supreme Court. "How could that many people in a high position of authority be that uninformed and dumb? It boggles the mind."

I had my Australian Shepard put down today. Her name was Sidney, as in the city in Australia. She was 15 Years 3 months. She had had dementia for the last year or so. For the last year she hadn't been able to control her bowels. She could hold the pee, but number 2 just came when it was ready. Today when I got home, she couldn't stand up. Her back legs just wouldn't work. I took her outside and laid her in the nicest part of the grass. She looked peaceful as the wind blew her face. On the...

I just dumped Firefox. I didn't like what the did to their CEO, forcing him out. Dennis Praeger is encouraging everyone to uninstall Firefox, so I did. I then went to their feedback site and told them why. I was gracious, some of the comments were not.

For those who worried Polaris would severely alter the legend, fear not: the new 2014 Indians harken back to a bygone era of motorcycling.

My daughter is expecting twins. She has 28 day until she is 37 weeks. 42 weeks is full term. The DR wants her to go at least 37 weeks to allow for maximum development. My questions is, what can we expect? Obviously, I/we've done the child raising thing, but not twins. Any insight would be welcome.

Once An Eagle, a novel by Anton Myrer, was published in 1968, at the height of the Vietnam War. Nearly forty years later, this classic novel of soldiers and soldiering remains in print, having sold well over three million copies. It remains a fixture on the Marine Corps Commandant’s Reading List, as well as other military professional reading lists. The novel also spawned, in 1976, an outstanding nine-hour television miniseries of the same name, starring Sam Elliot, Glen Ford, and Darlene Carr. Once An Eagle is the epic tale of good versus evil. The good is embodied in protagonist Sam...

I am requesting advice. I am a reservist who was mobilized post 9/11 (You are welcome for my service, thanks for the thanks). My employer, a county in a rather large southwest community, has decided to recognize all county employees who had been mobilized post 9/11. The board of supervisors have asked me and all county employees who were mobilized to attend a board of supervisor's meeting to make the recognition. I at first said I would attend. Since my acceptance, I have been inundated with inquiries from the elected officials I work for, through their secretaries, as to whether...

Much has been written about the Posse Comitatus Act. As a few others have noted, much of this commentary is “just plain nonsense.”2 The majority opinion, however, including that of the Department of Defense, maintains that this 19th-century law strictly limits almost all DOD participation in any activity related to “law enforcement” or “homeland security.”3 This fundamental mischaracterization, while understandable, is potentially dangerous to national security and has done nothing to protect civil liberties. So how did a racist law from the bitter Reconstruction period morph, in many minds, into shorthand for the respected principle that Americans do not want...
