  • Censorship vs Free Speech vs Incitement

Free speech is an absolute right. Anyone should be able to say any opinion they hold regardless of how distasteful, offensive, scary, obscene, etc... However, you are also responsible for the speech. If were to say, "I hate redheads.", that may be offensive to some but it is my opinion and should be legal. Same thing if I was talking about blacks, jews, muslims, etc.... If I were to say, "I wish all redheads would die."... same scenario. If I were to say, "I wish someone would kill that particular redhead." That MAY still be legal. However, if someone were...

The Biden administration is considering allowing some Palestinians to come live in the United States as refugees. CBS News reported Tuesday that senior officials across several federal agencies have discussed how to resettle Palestinians from Gaza, potentially using the United States Refugee Admissions Program. The individuals chosen would have to have immediate family members who are American citizens or permanent residents.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that Israel must control the territory in the Gaza Strip and significantly reduce the number of Palestinian residents in Gaza. In an interview to army radio, the far-right minister said that his "demand" was for the Gaza Strip to stop being a "hotbed where two million people grow up on hatred and aspire to destroy the State of Israel." ...Smotrich then suggested that the removal of around 90 percent of Gaza's residents would help achieve his goal. "If there are 100,000 or 200,000 Arabs in Gaza and not two million, the whole discourse about the...

I think I've had discussions w/enough Boomer-tier Trump supporters who believe the 2020 election was fraudulent to extract a general theory about their perspective. It is also the perspective of most of the people at the Capitol on 1/6, and probably even Trump himself. Most believe some or all of the theories involving midnight ballots, voting machines, etc, but what you find when you talk to them is that, while they'll defend those positions w/info they got from Hannity or Breitbart or whatever, they're not particularly attached to them. Here are the facts - actual, confirmed facts - that shape...
  • I need help backing into the ARR from the latest Lancet study on vaccine effectiveness

This is the supplemental data from the latest Lancet study on Pfizer vaccine effectiveness after 5 months. I am trying to back into the ARR since I can't see where they mention it. I am specifically looking at Table 6 a. and b. and not understanding what I am seeing. It almost appears that 5 months after taking the Pfizer vaccine, you are MORE likely to test positive for Covid than if you had never received the vaccine. I doubt this is true or at least that they would make numbers public that reflected such an outcome. Can someone help...
  • In 2018, NPR thought Ivermectin was so harmless they advocated giving large doses to humans to poison mosquitoes that bite them.

Imagine this: A pesky mosquito sips some of your blood. Hours later, the blood-sucker drops dead, poisoned by the very blood it just slurped down. That may sound too good to be true, but it's a tantalizing possibility, according to research published this week in the journal The Lancet Infectious Diseases. The study points to a potential new tool to fight malaria: the medication ivermectin. Studies conducted in the 2000s, including one in 2010, show that malaria-carrying mosquitoes die after feeding on individuals who have ingested the drug. ......... In their study, the researchers demonstrate that three high doses of...
  • How far would you go to comply?

Here is a link to an article from last year about a DARPA created product that will monitor your blood for Covid infection. It is a microchip that you will take under your skin to alert you at the first signs of infection. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/last-pandemic-science-military-60-minutes-2021-04-11/ It is not a stretch to believe that after the government mandated vaccines end up failing, the government will decide they need to mandate these implanted sensors "to keep us safe". This is my question for those that took the vaccine not believing they needed it for health reasons but rather for convenience, social pressure, job...

I got to thinking...everyone is saying they need to do a recount in MI and WI but I don't think that would matter. The Dems didn't change R votes to D votes. They found out who didn't vote yesterday and then created votes for those people in the middle of the night. It shouldn't be too tough to create an easily searchable database from the publicly available voter roles that people could use to find out who voted. For example, I could enter in the names of my family members and see which ones were showing as having voted. If...

I seldom watch network or cable TV so I rarely see political commercials. I was over at a relatives house yesterday and they had the TV on. I was shocked by the ads for Senator Rob Portman -R vs. Ted Strickland - D (in Ohio). The ads seemed to be each candidate trying to out-Trump the other one. Portman's ad talked about the Chinese devaluing their currency, dumping steel on the U.S. and how Portman would fight them. Strickland's ad talked about how he was against unfair trade deals that hurt the middle class and export jobs. These candidates might...

I think I understand the nomination/convention process but I want to run it by y'all to make sure I am right.... To be on the first ballot at the convention, a candidate must win a "magic 8" states. This is the majority of DELEGATES in at least 8 states. So far, Trump has 4 or 5 of these and will certainly get enough by the end of the primary process. Cruz has only 1 of these (Texas-94 out of 155 delegates) and may or may not eventually get to 8. Rubio and Kasich are pretty much certainly NOT going to...

I posted this in another thread but I would like to know (besides the obvious reason of (R) cowardice) why this plan wouldn't work? 1.) The House passes a budget that defunds amnesty, defunds PP, defunds the Iran deal, defunds Obamacare. 2.) The Senate attempts to vote on it. 3.) The Democrats filibuster. 4.) The deadline passes. 5.) The government shuts down. 6.) The Republicans "change the rules of the Senate" so that budget bills cannot be filibustered after the government is shut down. 7.) The Senate passes the budget. 8.) Obama vetoes the budget. 9.) The Republicans take to...

Does anyone know of any good teaching/learning resources for a 12 year old kid over the summer? I am specifically interesting in supplementing the new common core, dumbed down public education that he is getting during the school year with classical learning that they no longer teach. I am particularly interested in the topics of logic, reason, civics, rhetoric, philosophy, grammar, history (from a conservative standpoint), etc... that would be suitable for an 8th grader.

This is probably a stupid question but why is the stupid party framing the "fiscal cliff" the way they are. I don't get it. 1.)Most of the changes that are to occur are reversing legislation that was implemented in the Bush years. 2.)Everybody in America knows that the Democrats have been calling for years to get rid of the "Bush tax cuts" 3.)We know with almost 100% certainty that the "fiscal cliff" will bring about economic pain to everyone in the country. WHY IN THE HELL ARE WE FRAMING THIS DEBATE IN TERMS OF A NATURAL LANDSCAPE FEATURE?????????? The pain...

Me and a hunting buddy were discussing unions the other day and it raised some questions that I would like help with. He is a member of a skilled trade union here in Ohio and said he voted for Obama because Romney was for "Right to Work" and he said that would hurt his paycheck. He said that he is against factory unions, and public sector unions but that skilled trade unions work differently and don't deprive anyone of their rights. He basically describes a skilled trade union hall as an exclusive "club" that only accepts members that have certain...

Something occurred to me after watching all of the footage of the various town hall meetings and the citizen's vocal reaction to what their elected representatives are doing. These 50 or 100 people are really an insignificant percentage of the congress person's constituents. Unions members, television advertising, slick marketing, ACORN and Obama-bots will more than make up for even a relatively large group of pissed off citizens. Today, each representative has 700,000 constituents. That is not the way it has always been. The framers of the constitution intended that number to be between 50,000 and 60,000. The number of congressional...

A new primary system Why do we use the same primary voting system in the 21st century that we did in the 18th? The old system was set up to counter the inconveniences of time and distance. Advances in communication have overcome these obstacles yet we vote as if those advances had never been made at all. A new system could be devised which would take special interests, party bosses and smoke filled back rooms out of the process. This new system would give the power to the party faithful and ensure that the party nominee would be chosen by...
