Here I am to say goodbye. After reading Jim's latest screeds, after translating from the original German, I have decided enough is enough. I am no longer going to associate with a site that refuses to admit Romney is the duly-elected nominee of the Republican Party. Palin is not going to descend on the convention and chop his head off. The site has been descending into cultish behavior for years, and I still can't figure out where all the money goes each quarter. Having been invited to leave earlier this week by Jim, I am taking up his offer. Goodbye....

I've been really bothered in my spirit lately about the second coming of Jesus and I would like to bounce around a couple of thoughts. Remember during the first coming of the Messiah, the Jewish priests and scribes were fully convinced what kind of person the Messiah would be and what he would do for them, and the Messiah ended up being a no-name carpenter, Jesus of Nazareth. I was in a violent car accident Wednesday night. I was hit on my right side by a lady high on drugs and alcohol. My truck spun and we hit each other again. I spun the opposite way, hit the curb, and flipped into a pole. I whipped around the pole into a second pole and ended up upside down. The roof collapsed in and I had to be extracted by the fire department. Both vehicles are totaled. Thanks to God Almighty, my only real injury is a small fracture in the first vertebrae of my neck. Gov. Rick Perry will keep $23,500 in campaign money for now from a major political donor accused of defrauding customers with tax problems. Attorney General Greg Abbott filed suit Thursday against Patrick Cox and Houston-based TaxMasters, which advertises that it helps defend people facing Internal Revenue Service audits. The lawsuit cites nearly 1,000 consumer complaints that say the company misled customers, failed to disclose its no-refunds policy and falsely claimed employees were working on cases when they weren't. TaxMasters spokesman DeWayne Logan said the company had not reviewed the complaint and would not comment on the charges.

Belo Corp., owner of The Dallas Morning News and WFAA-TV, announced this morning that it intends to spin off its newspapers and publishing operations into a separate, publicly traded company. The spinoff would make Belo Corp. the nation's largest publicly traded pure-play broadcast television firm, with 20 stations, plus cable properties. The new publicly traded company, A.H. Belo Corp., will own and operate Belo's current newspapers and related Web sites. Those include The News, The Providence (R.I.) Southwest Airlines is issuing an apology to the San Diego woman who was told she wasn't dressed appropriately on a San Diego to Tucson flight on July 3. Southwest sent passenger Kyla Ebbert an apology, saying it was "very sorry" on a taping of the Dr. Phil Show Friday, and Southwest president Colleen Barrett was trying to reach Ebbert via telephone. Denton police arrested a 28-year-old Strickland Middle School female teacher early Wednesday on two charges of aggravated sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy who is her former student. Lauren Michelle Cosgrove, of Sanger, is accused of having sexual relations at least twice with the boy when she was baby-sitting him and the two other boys in the family. She is in city jail today in lieu of $10,000 bail on each charge and could not be reached for comment.

The city of Dallas is about to experience a huge drop in crime, but not because there are fewer victims. The police department recently discovered major flaws in the way it reports property crimes to the FBI. It's been happening for years, and it makes Dallas appear more crime ridden than New York and L.A.

Wilford "Crazy Ray" Jones, who turned a stint selling seat cushions at the Cotton Bowl into a nationally recognizable role as an unofficial Dallas Cowboys mascot, has died. Mr. Jones, 76, died Saturday at an Irving hospice. Friends said he suffered from congestive heart failure and had recently had a heart attack. "Crazy Ray" entertained decades of Cowboys fans and became a Dallas institution in chaps and white boots. "This whole thing has turned out so much bigger than I ever expected," he told The Dallas Morning News in 1981. "I never want to do anything else."

Rhymes H. Moncure Jr., resident bishop of the Dallas area of the United Methodist Church, has died following complications from surgery to remove a brain tumor, church officials said Sunday. Bishop Moncure had been in intensive care in a Dallas hospital following the Aug. 7 surgery.

As expected, the FCC Thursday approved--by a 4-1 vote--Comcast and Time Warner's $17.6 billion purchase of bankrupt Adelphia Communications, with the two dividing up the systems. Democrat Jonathan Adelstein joined the Republicans in voting for the deal, leaving only Democrat Michael Copps opposing. Adelstein did dissent in part, saying the commission should have imposed network neutrality conditions, a deficit that also troubled Copps. Emergency crews were using heat-seeking sensors and canine units Wednesday morning to search for victims of two tornadoes that roared across northern Collin County late Tuesday, killing at least three people and injuring 10 more. An elderly couple were found dead in a destroyed home in Westminster, while a teenager was found deceased at a separate location, Collin County spokeswoman Leigh Hornsby said. Thunderstorms pounded the Dallas-Fort Worth area Sunday, causing flash flooding in streets, streams and yards. At least one person died Sunday after being swept away in rushing waters. The National Weather Service in Fort Worth reported that about 7 inches of rain fell Sunday in Arlington, and more than 5 inches fell near downtown Dallas. A late-morning storm moved from Johnson County into Tarrant and Dallas counties, dumping rain at the rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
