May he rest in peace.
I shall miss his greatly. He was an EXCELLENT Bishop ... a true man of God. As I told my congregation this morning when I made the announcement, "If you think finding a good pastor is difficult, think how hard it is to find a good Bishop! Bishop Moncure wasn't just a good Bishop -- he was a man of deep and and well-expressed faith and a very pastoral Bishop for the clergy of the North Texas Conference. I thank God for the honor and blessing of having had Moncure as my Bishop and Pastor for 2 years."
I can tell that my pastor felt very personally grieved this morning when making the announcement to us. Normally he talks about those who've died as having "gone on to their reward". This morning, he said Bishop Moncure "was taken from us".
I pray God will provide us another bishop like Bishop Moncure.
