In a pair of new studies, behavioral scientists investigated the relationship between “truth relativism” — the concept that truth and reality are different to different people — and the risk of falling victim to false information. “I think many people who emphasize a more relativistic view of what truth is mean well,” Julia Aspernäs, Ph.D. student in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Learning at Linköping University in Sweden, said in a statement.
I suspect that the "truth" of the gut feeling is altered subtly over time. The half life of a "debunked" falsehood turning into truth these days is about 2 months.
Actually, no, I don’t think they have to look at the evidence that turned up. If the investigation was not based on any evidence to begin with, wouldn’t that be fruit of a poisoned tree?

I disagree that Trump filed a false statement. To my understanding, the payoff to Stormy Daniels came from Cohen, who them billed Trump for “legal services”. Trump paid Cohen’s bill.
The novel claim in the NY payments case is twofold:
1 - The payments in question (due to the statute of limitations) occurred after Trump’s stake in Trump, Inc. was placed in a blind trust so Trump could be President.
2 - The “underlying crime” that extended the statute of limitations is a federal charge, for which the governing body in fedgov has evaluated and passed on charging.
Alvin Bragg has straddled the state/federal fence with aplomb, skewering his cohones in the process, IMO.

The initial fire (in the morning) was sparked by downed lines. That fire was 100% contained. The fire fighters left, and a flareup started that afternoon. The power company was repairing the lines, with the power off, when the flareup occurred.
That is what I read about from a couple of different sources.
