A Portland man is accused of chasing two federal officers on an Oregon roadway and trying multiple times to hit them with his car – successfully crashing into their vehicle twice, the U.S. Justice Department announced Wednesday. Albert, 55, faces up to eight years if convicted. The pair of officers, who were in uniform and wearing “visible police patches and a badge,” had just left the Edith Green-Wendell Wyatt Federal Building in Portland in a rental car, officials said. They were heading back to their hotel when one of the officers spotted a gray SUV – allegedly being driven by...

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is planning to introduce a resolution condemning the House Democrats' impeachment inquiry process, and argued that any articles should be dismissed in the Senate without a trial. "This resolution puts the Senate on record condemning the House. ...Here's the point of the resolution: Any impeachment vote based on this process, to me, is illegitimate, is unconstitutional, and should be dismissed in the Senate without a trial," Graham told Fox News's Sean Hannity.

The Mexican city of Culiacán descended into terror on Thursday, when soldiers and police launched a raid to capture one of the heirs to the throne of jailed Mexican kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman. As state forces advanced into the city, the Sinaloa Cartel hit back with an array of military-style weapons — and won. Mexican officials briefly detained Ovidio Guzman, one of Guzman’s sons who has emerged as a leading figure in the cartel after his father was arrested in 2016. But in response the cartel freed dozens of prisoners from a local jail, set numerous vehicles alight and...

Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY) introduced legislation Monday aimed at nullifying state-level gun controls that exceed gun controls put in place by the federal government. New York’s SAFE Act (2013) is a prime example of the kind of gun control Collins hopes to erase. WKBW reports Collins’ bill is titled the Second Amendment Guarantee Act (SAGA), and its language explicitly “[limits] the authority of states to regulate conduct, or impose penalties or taxes in relation to rifles or shotguns.” It is designed to catch laws that go beyond federal statutes and render them void. According to the Buffalo News, Collins described SAGA,...

HONOLULU (AP) — Nicole Leszczynski couldn't imagine that two chicken salad sandwiches would land her and her husband in jail and her 2-year-old daughter in state custody. But it happened five days ago, when the 30-weeks-pregnant woman forgot to pay for her snack while grocery shopping. "It was the most ridiculous chain of events that happened," she said while sobbing Monday. "It's still hard to believe what happened." Leszczynski, 28, and her husband Marcin, 33, were handcuffed, searched then released on $50 bail each. Their ordeal at the police station lasted a few hours, but their daughter Zofia spent the...

In July, the Russian-manned cargo ship the Arctic Sea disappeared on its way to take timber from Finland to Algeria, sparking reports of the first incident of piracy in European waters since the days of the buccaneers. Experts and observers weighed in with their theories: the ship had been snatched in a commercial dispute; it was being used to run drugs; it was carrying something more precious — or dangerous — than timber. Since then, the Russian navy has found the ship, and the alleged hijackers who boarded it on July 24 have been charged with kidnapping and piracy. The...

I am ashamed of the people that are supposed to be leading this nation. When individuals place themselves and their own interests above the well being and defense of the nation, when they fail to uphold their oath to the constitution and in its place pledge loyalty to the media and their financial supporters, when both parties are more concerned about making the other party or person look bad and spend more time, energy, and resources on vendetta and personal destruction of their political rivals instead of the same effort on working on the nation’s needs, when enemies are at...

Missile Defense Test Score Goes Three-in-a-row By Jim Garamone American Forces Press Service WASHINGTON, March 18, 2002 -- A ballistic missile interceptor successfully destroyed a test target March 16 in what Missile Defense Agency officials hope is becoming an almost routine occurrence. The Ground-based Midcourse Defense System's exoatmospheric kill vehicle vaporized a mock nuclear warhead on impact 140 miles over the Pacific. The hit-to-kill vehicle distinguished the mock warhead from decoys and other debris. The March 16 test was the third success in a row and fourth out of six tries. Missile Defense Agency officials said the test was in...

Over the past three decades, our Founding Fathers have fallen on rough times. Disparaged by liberals and slandered by post-modernists and cultural Marxists, their portraits have been removed from public buildings and their presence stricken from textbooks. It is possible today for American students to pass through elementary school and high school, and obtain a university degree, without gaining any appreciation for the men who founded their country. The horrendous events of Sept. 11 taught Americans that denunciations of their heritage have consequences that go beyond the babbling of crackpot academics and minority "leaders." Patriotism and our flag made a ...

JERUSALEM (February 5) - After two decades of advocating a negotiated settlement with the Palestinians, Peace Now is admitting for the first time that the strategy taken during the Oslo process was mistaken. Their new approach: withdraw from the settlements now, negotiate a settlement on the basis of the Clinton plan later. To that effect, the organization is set to begin a new campaign later this week, advocating a unilateral withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and the most isolated of the West Bank settlements. "We recognize that there were mistakes made during the Oslo process," Peace Now spokesman Didi ...

Dane County Circuit Judge Daniel Moeser granted a request from the Wisconsin Citizens Concerned for Cranes and Doves, which filed a civil lawsuit in June against the state Department of Natural Resources, seeking a court order halting the hunt until it could further pursue its claims in court. Moeser said state statutes show that the Legislature intended to develop specific definitions for game and nongame birds. And he said there was evidence the Legislature did not intend for mourning doves to be considered game birds. Moeser said animal rights groups had shown "that there will be irreparable harm if the ...
