The thread was zotted because of your response - the Iowa Department of Health admitted it was drafted at the state level - so obviously the admin that placed the “zot” whatever that is was unaware that your post did not invalidate the premise of the post -i.e. that the state has drafted (implemented at the counties to find out) - policy that allows through some undisclosed process (presumably left to the counties to determine) what will happen - if Flu tests will have to be administered - etc. The draft doc only says because of symptoms - no specific finding of a test is required. This is the problem - not the process is at the counties -or that the county officials are negligent - but that the criteria is weak - the duration is vague (days,weeks) - no limit. There should be a limit of time - there is no provision for visiting children - can you not see that this doc should not only enforce a quarantine mechanism but assure and spell out the rights of those who would be so imprisoned? Could not, if the person had health insurance - check into a hospital of their choice rather than being forced to go to some dilapidated facility - if they could afford it - or elect to shell out their own money?

The document is legit - and it was just uncovered by a Tennessee journalist Monday - perhaps you knew about this doc all along but choose not to disclose to us plebs - b/c why? Sworn to secrecy? Average people aren’t supposed to be able to understand such lofty medical deliberations that undermine our constitutional rights?

SO excuse us that we didn’t know about it - and that we overreacted when it was uncovered that it gives little despots the legal ability (however much you poo-poo that it would ever be excersized - it is there in BLACK AND WHITE) to grab children out of their homes if they are deemed not able to provide “adequate” care - what would that be prey tell?

There used to be something called “due process” - maybe some “credentialed” people should read up on that to understand that one public good does not undermine my right to life, liberty and justice. Sure you can appeal - after you are sequestered with no access to lawyers - read the doc - no contact w/o approval. Of course being so benevolent you in your one little county would let people have lawyers- but how about in Des Moines and Davenport?

Look at the Iowa flag sometime - it might be educational for you. We won’t give up our liberties, or our children, or our freedoms - without a fight.

So why again was this thread Zotted - it is totally legit - and no one answered the question - why can’t children be accompanied by a parent - if they chose? Especially for young children. Why can’t a H1N1 test be given to prove you have the flu rather than some specious symptoms that anyone can have and not have the flu.

Which describes a take-off idea from the European Value-Added Tax that would interprete 100% of the retail price of imported goods as "Value Added" by the Merchant that sold the goods - so they would have to pay 20% (or some amount) torwards a tax. American made goods would have a reduction in the value-added tax based on income paid to American workers.

Please Call local Isreali consolates and ask for intervention in the memory of Schindler's good dead - and for thanks for all of the Good Catholics who sheltered Jews during WWII and in many cases died subsequently for doing so.

You make a good point, but it should not be supposed that because one vision was mis-stated (who knows what the cause was) - that Marian devotion is not fundamental to our Holy Faith - it is the thing that most differentiates us from the Protestants - and that makes our Faith most pleasing to the most Holy Son of God - that we venerate His Holy Mother. Setting aside all of the perfidious noise from Protestants - it is clear that many Novus Catholics do not fully appreciate Mary's role in God's salvific plan - and undermine Her as the protestants do (specifically those in the Catholic Answers Club). She is dogmatically defined as Immaculate - if anyone can cast a stone at one so defined - or could understate the role of the only human so ordained - it really astonishes me coming from Catholic quarters.

Read SAINT Louis Marie DeMontfort - who JPII has great devotion to - and you will find the definition of CO-Redemptrix defined. But if you have a problem with that -just focus on Mediatrix of All Graces - that should be enough to revere Our Blessed Lady for. P.S. BlackElk, my apologies, I think this was supposed to be directed at the one that was "attacking" me. Since She will be the one to crush the head of Satan - She should be venerated in the highest terms. Just as Adam and Eve committed the first sin - from a tree - it required an Adam (Christ) and an Eve (Mary) to undo the sin. Since the first creatures fell - the redemption must come from ones who were without sin - thus the Immaculate conception and Mary's preservation from all sin - and Christ's sinlessness. But a belief in Mary, though helpful in salvation, is not required - just a big help - as she is the Mediatrix of all graces. By now - all of the NO's should be in fits - since the whole Medatrix thing is so Pre-VII and not approved by Catholic Answers Protestant Redux.

You are entitled to your opinion but you don't have a right to cast dispersions on traditionalists when other religions are elevated to the same level of our Holy Faith by the Vatican - the ancient Faith is the only Faith - and all the ecumenical hooey is for the birds. Perhaps you should check which flock you are amongst.

Yes, by all means obey the Pope, like when they had several Popes at one time - you had to obey them all -right? Or not - did you have to discern which was the true Pope and follow the one that taught the truth? Hmmmm - seems a bit more complicated then just blind obedience. Since there was a real time and place that the simple postulation did not work - it would suggest that a time could occur when a claimant was not valid - life is so complicated.
