My friend for more than 45 years, Betty, has been diagnosed with liver cancer. The doctors believe she is about half-way through what they call "the process." Meaning she has only two to three months to live. She refuses pain killers - or to even take a Tylenol now, because she thinks that's what makes her burp. This is a woman who raised eight children, alone, after her husband died. And there's not a dud in the bunch. She's the woman, so strong and healthy, I always thought would live to be 90.

There are no flights going west into Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, tonight, nor are there any heading east, either commercial airliners or private planes. I usually see three or four on any given night, within ten minutes time, except after the WTC hijackings. Anybody else in Arizona noticing this?
