The Ghurkhas are superb soldiers and warriors with an indomitable reputation, but that does not make them 'bad a$$ killers', or people that make the enemy 'SUFFER EXTREME PAIN'. All I've ever heard of the Ghurkhas is that they're polite, friendly and humourous. Do you really think that the British and all those who have served with Ghurkhas would show respect and admiration for them if these people really were murderous killing machines? No.
It amazes me that people still subscribe to the stereotypical view that an excellent warrior must also be a blood-thirsty brute. Did you know that the ideal samurai was not only one who knew a hundred different ways to cut a man in two, but also one who could write poetry and appreciate the beauty of floral arrangements? It is the same idea with the Ghurkhas.
What a person IS and what a person can DO, are two entirely different things.
