The reality is just about all Americans can accurately compare “life where they came from” to “life in America” except African Americans. The Religious based Civil Rights Movement simply destroyed black Americans and so we live as Africans (without knowing anything about Africa) in America.

this is result of the concept of Humanism which led to Socialism..look to EU for the progression as Europe was first to embrace both.

I would tend to agree with you if I had not spent the last 5 years in Europe. I tend to think the old European view of the Americas some 300 years ago is somewhat similar to the US view of Europeans with Humanism and Socialism (based on substituting "Old European class and culture" for "American intelligence and capitalism"). I tend to think there are limits to an intellectual/capitalist society in an inter-connected world where, while the West is deal-focused, the majority (85%) of the world's people live in relationship-focused societies. In short, I think American values has been the bright light that has changed the world and other societies have implemented "Americanism" into their cultures but our cultural/societal base is eroding very quickly (based on the two points I mentioned earlier) with "pure" modern Americanism.

the future is nearly set: a weak America divided into ethnic zones, member of the North American Union,

Given two big economic problems facing America, social security and the need for cheap labor, it seems very easy to provide incentives for retirees to go to Mexico (here in Spain, Northern Europeans retire here for sun, sand and hospital) in exchange for cheap labor. This can all be packaged into a European Union style "North American universal health care coverage" program. I tend to think this snowball is 3/4 down the hill with nothing in sight to stop it.

the future is nearly set: a weak America divided into ethnic zones, member of the North American Union, ruled by bureaucrats and wealthy families.. china/russia will dominate the world as they fight off the Globalism of the west... The constitution will be revoked by rules set by the new world order power structure: “McCains” group of free nations or just the old UN. average Americans will live at much lower standards than we now have, as we sacrifice for the Ecology of the planet - global warming taxes and mandated reductions in energy use LIght bulbs, cars, home size, type of foods we eat... I say eat and be merry for tomorrow we die.

I tend to think America's internal problems will be to overcome (the irony!!!) 2 main societal/cultural forces. The main problem is reversing the damage done by the biggest scam in American history, the "religious based civil rights movement", the effect of which put black America 100s of years behind old Europe. The second is Eisenhower's warning about the effect of the military industrial complex on American society. However, both problems will take generations of constant effort to overcome so I think the most logical direction will be the establishment of the North American Union and the gradual irrelevance of the USA over time.

I tend to think the problem in American politics is that the Republican Party is not truly conservative but the Democratic Party is truly liberal. History will judge this as a good thing or a bad thing.

I tend to think Americans need to analyze their identities based on historical perspectives and future necessities. For example, the following group identities could shed some light on the future direction of the country.

Congressional Whites (1776): Established based on civilized White European society with modifications for a better human existence.

Congressional Black Caucus (1971): Established as a reactionary entity to Congressional Whites without any basis on civilized African society.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus (1976): Established as a reactionary entity to Congressional Whites and Blacks without any basis on civilized Spanish (European) society.

If the Congressional Black Caucus and Congressional Hispanic Caucus are good entities, then their should be more Caucuses in the future representing a diverse America. If they are bad entities, social Darwinistic forces will direct America to an unknown future.

The two key elements necessary to make aid work, and the absence of which has been fatal to aid’s effectiveness in the past, are FEEDBACK and ACCOUNTABILITY.

ACCOUNTABILITY: The richer become richer and the poor become poorer in the rich country and the rich become richer and the poor become poorer in the poor country. Just look at what domestic aid has done to black America in the last 40 years.

FEEDBACK: Try DOHA and similar programs.

Taiwan's vice president-elect said Friday he hoped to "melt the ice" with China in an historic encounter with Chinese President Hu Jintao expected here following decades of animosity.

In short, the head that was China wants warmer relations with the big headless body that is China.

Trying to just “airbrush” Rev. Wright out of history. Not a single mention about the biggest problem blacks face, BLACK RACISM.

I tend to think the packaging of sub-prime based CDOs and selling them to worldwide financial institutions may in fact be less damaging to America's credibility then the packaging of black victimization using black Reverends as salespeople and for the world's people to buy into this garbage. Iraq's million man march (on the 40th anniversary of MLK's assassination) coupled with Sadr's Shiite victimization scam is just one ramification of this black American Cabal's scam.

I tend to think the only way to address race in America is to compare life of “everyday people” in Europe, Africa and the Middle East and realize that all 3 have been slaves and slave masters throughout human history. If one follows Al and Jesse, they live like Africans in America. If one follows Islam, they live like Middle Easterners in America. If one follows Europeans, they live like Europeans in America. Everyone is free to choose but no one should complain.

Once one sets a frame for you to live within, the vast majority of people will live within that frame.

40 years later the winners are "Black Reverends and their Cabal" and the losers are "everyone else".

My son is a senior at UCLA and says the same thing - the black students from Africa are hard working, hard studying, polite, and a pleasure to be around. The American blacks mystify them, and they don’t hang around together. The Africans hang with their white/asian/indian dorm mates.

Ironically the opposite is true in Europe. Most American blacks in Europe have "found the promise land" and assimilate very quickly while many Africans come as migrant workers and don't assimilate. I tend to think tribal identities are more of a limiting factor than anything else among all races on the planet.

There’s always the military. They’re not outsourcing the dying, just the way of life it’s meant to protect.

That may have been yesterday's military but today's military is "cost plus contracts" and "green card soliders" and "lower the standard to get soliders at market value".

I’m just saying, from a cultural perspective, we should encourage skilled workers who want to be here and are here legally to remain here. And I’m not talking about opening the floodgates, either. Maybe, in a slowing economy, 65,000 is too high. But in a growing economy it is not.

Having worked within the MIC for 11 years, I tend to strongly agree with the statement "I’m just saying, from a cultural perspective, we should encourage skilled workers who want to be here and are here legally to remain here" as this strategy has been America's success. The brilliant "unwanted, disrespected, troublesome" minds from around the world has made America a great country. But the driving forces of the Dow and a "purely intellectual/"powers that be" based society" leads to an old European based society.

Lets hope the Clinton (D-Punjab) doesn’t get elected.

I like both of your comments in response to this article as you have much more relevant experience than I do about the IT market. I'd also like to know the answer to the questions you proposed because I really don't know and I'm sure many FRiends would like to know.

Don't know about the 30% thing, that sounds rather dramatic, but I'd call getting a green card a long term benefit.

From a business perspective, I'd say the IT engineers from India and China are better at US market value based on their skills. But if business decisions are made purely based on market forces, then let the loyal patriotic Americans know and get rid of the flag and replace it with a global symbol. My personal opinion is that America is headed where old Europe was (with the Dow replacing gold and intelligence replacing Aristocracy) and Old Europe is headed where America was many years ago.
