Chasing the 'Dream'

Today marks the 40th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination. As we remember the man once described as the moral compass of the nation, one speech in particular continues to inspire us, its poetic refrain imprinted on the memory of America. I have a dream that one day … The soaring oration was delivered against the backdrop of the Lincoln Memorial to a crowd of 250,000 gathered for the March on Washington. Since that historic moment on Aug. 28, 1963, "I Have a Dream" has become a bellwether for America's progress on race. Themes of justice, opportunity, unity, desegregation and discrimination are woven throughout the speech and serve as milestones in the quest for equality. Now, almost 45 years after the speech, America is a land of contrasts, with some dreams fulfilled while many others are deferred. "You see the signs of change," says the Rev. Jesse Jackson, one of King's lieutenants during the civil rights era. "The change is not complete and it is in some cases slow, but we see evidence of morning time." The American public agrees. According to a recent MSN-Zogby poll, there is overwhelming agreement that race relations are better in 2008 than they were in 1968. How much better, however, depends on whom you ask. Eighty-six percent of whites say race relations are more unified now, compared to 66 percent of blacks. Jackson says the candidacies of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton show that the country is less reactionary when it comes to race and gender. "I see the seeds [King] sowed bearing fruit today," Jackson says. "The massive white vote for Barack; he is the conduit through which the newer, better America is expressing itself." So how close are we to the dream? Twenty percent of respondents in the MSN-Zogby poll say

Hillary had said that, “Dr. King’s dream began to be realized when President Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964… It took a president to get it done.”

Suprisingly, that statement is totally truthful yet it has alienated many blacks because many blacks do not want to give credit to whites that have helped advance "the dream".

IMO, they do not want to give credit because to do so puts whites on an equal moral plane and puts the racial exstortion in jeaopardy.

Also, dominance over whites is a "dream" of some blacks, like our friend Pastor Wright.

I tend to think the only way to address race in America is to compare life of “everyday people” in Europe, Africa and the Middle East and realize that all 3 have been slaves and slave masters throughout human history. If one follows Al and Jesse, they live like Africans in America. If one follows Islam, they live like Middle Easterners in America. If one follows Europeans, they live like Europeans in America. Everyone is free to choose but no one should complain.

Trying to just “airbrush” Rev. Wright out of history. Not a single mention about the biggest problem blacks face, BLACK RACISM.

Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe and South Africa’s Thabo Mbeki are two superb current examples of black racists. Uganda’s Idi Amin was another one. I am convinced if I did a bit more digging I’d remember a few more.

No point saying blacks can’t be racists — they certainly can.

Another famous quotation has something to do with worshiping false idols.

I tend to think the packaging of sub-prime based CDOs and selling them to worldwide financial institutions may in fact be less damaging to America's credibility then the packaging of black victimization using black Reverends as salespeople and for the world's people to buy into this garbage. Iraq's million man march (on the 40th anniversary of MLK's assassination) coupled with Sadr's Shiite victimization scam is just one ramification of this black American Cabal's scam.
