  • Ill. Gov. arrested in Obama successor probe [Blagojevich Arresed on Corruption Charges]

Let’s hope that Obama doesn’t fire Fitzgerald when he takes office. We need Fitzgerald there to prosecute this corrupt governor. And I hate how the liberals are acting like he being prosecuted because he’s a Democrat. Besides, Fitzgerald prosecuted the last Governor of Illinois, who was *gasp* a Republican.

I hate to say, but on paper she would be considered qualified, having been U.S. Attorney for Arizona, Arizona Attorney General, and of course Governor of Arizona.

Of course, she stinks on the border. But not enough Arizonans cared about her border record (since she kept saying about how the Feds weren’t doing enough and that she can’t do anything).

Can’t wait for Jan Brewer to replace her. It’s time a Republican take over the Arizona Governorship again. Besides, she will be supported by the gains the GOP made in the state legislative.

“”I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face,” he said.”

So much for hope, change, and bipartisanship, both what Barrack Obama hasn’t done and never will. Meaning that Barrack Obama wants Crossfire-type arguments.

“Obama has tried to assure donors and voters that he’s been schooled by Chicago politics.”

Bad idea, you really want to link yourself with the corrupt Democratic machine in Chicago, Barrack? At least McCain has took on the Arizona Political Establishment (for better or worse), which is definitely not as corrupt as the Chicago machine.

This sucks for all the Downstate NY Republicans, and all of the NYC Republicans. I sure hope Staten Island stays Republican. Now, I guess GOP New Yorkers can only count on Peter King on Long Island.

I live in Arizona, which I hope doesn’t institute such a tax (especially since I bet Gov. Napolitano would probably love to fund her pet projects. She already supports a proposal to raise the state sales tax here.)

I know many internet sites (including Amazon, which has a warehouse in Phoenix) have warehouses here. I guess theoretically the states in which online retailers’ warehouses are located could be taxed if the states really wanted to, but most retailers process the orders in their home state. Besides, it is likely for retailer to have stuff shipped from other states, even if they have a warehouse in your state. Therefore, I think taxing online retailers’ sales could be a bit complex of a question, especially due to the involvement of interstate commerce.

Let’s hope most other states keep the internet tax free, and hope that the federal government keeps it that way (especially as the Dems strengthen their control of the legislative branch and look for new taxing possibilities).

I hope Amazon and the other web sites sue New York State in federal court. After all, this is a issue of the interstate commerce clause.

This is why I didn’t buy a Zune, because who knows what problems will develop in the future.

I bought a iPod because I have more protected files with the iTunes store. Not to mention, protected files are transferable to five computers, and your iPod alllows for the easy transfer of protected iTunes music/video files to other computer. Plus, its DRM system is less problematic than Microsoft’s. Although for some odd reason, it doesn’t allow you to use your iPod to transfer other songs on your iPod.

The best place to buy music legally is now Amazon.com MP3 Download store. No DRM restrictions there.

  • Poll: McCain leads in Arizona over Clinton, Obama (Mac leads both by more than 20 points)

I kind of glad McCain is from Arizona and will definitely win this state (despite the fact some conservatives are and will always be angry with McCain). I know many Obama/Clinton supporters here and I am glad that no matter what happens here, McCain will win and their votes will be neutralized due to the electoral college system.

I still hope McCain campaigns here a bit to raise the morale of his home state supporters. However, he really needs to try to win the other states. This state is in the bag.

Exclusive: Spitzer to resign Wednesday, aide says
Lt. Gov. David Paterson Prepares To Take State Helm

ALBANY — Gov. Eliot Spitzer on Tuesday holed up in his Manhattan apartment and prepared to resign Wednesday over a prostitution scandal that has rocked the state, according to a high-ranking aide.

In a strategy used to give his lawyers time to negotiate with federal officials, the aide said, Spitzer needed to hold onto the governorship as leverage to work out a deal involving criminal charges.

Another well-placed source in the Capitol also said Spitzer will likely step down Wednesday.

As some Republicans talked of impeachment and some Democrats were studying the process, too, the scandal-scarred Spitzer essentially remained executive an extra day before what most considered to be the inevitable end of his relatively brief tenure. Expectations were that he would leave it to Lt. Gov. David Paterson to serve out the nearly three years left in his term.

Paterson kept a low profile and prepared for the prospect of succeeding Spitzer, according to people close to the governor.

Spitzer’s lawyer spent most of the day conferring with prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in a scandal that was still reverberating throughout a media-encircled Capitol a day after it exploded.

Director of Operations Paul Francis largely ran the government. Top commissioners tried to rally their agencies.

Yet officials in the Spitzer administration expected their boss to step down Wednesday. The “profound sadness” enveloping the administration, as one Spitzer loyalist described it, followed disclosures on Monday that the governor was caught through wire taps and financial records as being a patron of high-priced prostitutes.

“I have seen press reports that the governor’s resignation is imminent, and that is not true,” Senior Advisor Lloyd Constantine told the Times Union Tuesday afternoon as Spitzer lawyer Michele Hirshman was working with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, several sources said. Constantine declined to elaborate.

Yeah, he is as conservative as you can get in NYC. However, it would be difficult for him to win without the support of the New York State Conservative Party, which didn’t support him at all when he ran for mayor all three times.

Still, he is the best Republican that has a chance of winning in 2010. I don’t think any Republican from the rest of New York State could beat the Democrats in 2010.

Yeah, Rudy should run for Governor of New York, despite the fact that he’s a liberal. However, I bet he could reform the state better than a Democrat can do.

I knew times would get worst as Spitzer arrived. I just didn’t except that Spitzer would do such stupid things, such as his crazy plan to get illegal aliens driver licenses.

Clearly, I bet some people are missing Pataki a bit, he looks competent compared to Spitzer.

The difference between Jindal and Obama is that Jindal has actually turned things around. Jindal turned a bankrupt Medicaid program in Louisiana into one that was financially solvent when he was finished. I don’t think Obama has ever managed things.

Of course, the entire state government of Louisiana is another thing. Therefore, he is smart to sit this election out and work on fixing Louisiana, thereby improving his future prospects in Politics.

Jindal would be a great candidate, when he gains more experience as Louisiana’s Governor.

That said, he is barely old enough to be President. But I think he certainly has great potential in the future.

The only problem with Steele is, while he is one Black Conservative who could win the support of Blacks and Whites (and others alike), he probably would be attacked by liberals for only having the experience of being Maryland GOP Chairman and being Maryland Lt. Governor (even through it is definitely more experience than Obama has, especially some executive experience).

Hutchison, while she supports legalized abortions, would probably be more creditable as a VP candidate, due to her extensive political experience (which is certainly more than Hillary Clinton’s).

I hope the Jerusalem Post is more reliable. They debunked the “9/11-terrorist Atta blew up a bus in Israel” story.

Aside from that, we know that Clinton crippled our intelligence and Military capabilities to fight the then-rising threat. Apparently, the Dems wanted us to think, since the Cold War was over, there would be no other threats to our national security.
