So apparently some lady rammed the barrier. Are there any reports that she was armed or fired shots?

Well, if you want to “follow the money” check out the PEW charitable trust (pewtrust.org) grants and see were there bias’ are. It seems a little strange that an organization with financial commitments to folks like planned parenthood, policy initiatives to create mandatory Global Warming regulations, promote regulation of fisheries, etc., would be recognized in any way as legit polling outfit.

And yet as it’s highlighted in the lame stream media- we read and repeat (post) their stuff, giving them at least enough credibility in our minds to demoralize us a little.

    Bad folks with an agenda.

Funny thing is he does have half a clue- he’s one of the forces behind “waiting for superman”- and an active advocate for education reform. You’d think he’d take the logical next step and realize that his federal tax dollars are funding programs that are destroying education directly and indirectly.

And since the money is his instead of Obama’s, he has the choice to use it somewhere where it can actually do good instead of falling in to some friend of Barack’s pocket.

  • Iowa wrestler defaults rather than face girl

The young man did the right thing. He believed wrestling a girl compromised his principles, stood up for what he believed in, and accepted consequences of his decision– losing the match.

My sons all wrestled. Two of them went on to be successful college wrestlers. Each of their careers spanned many years and hundreds of matches. My wife and I have raised each of our kids with a strict, traditional, biblical view of life, sexuality, purity and marriage. My oldest son was recently married and it was a great celebration for two young people who set themselves apart in purity as an honor to God and each other.

In the hundreds of if not a thousand of wrestling matches that I’ve observed I cannot think of a single time when the match had any sort of sexual implication to it. As a parent I never remember looking forward to my son having to wrestle a girl. )I remember a couple of a female opponents who went on to become national caliber wrestlers) - but is was never a moral issue.

In Mere Christianity, CS Lewis makes a point to differentiate between things that are morally wrong or sin- and things that are merely cultural norms that in fact are always being tested and change over time. Since Jesus came and made it possible for me to understand the Bible without the help of “professionals”, I can understand for myself what the Bible says is sexual sin and honestly I don’t see anything there that says the girls can’t compete or even wrestle with boys.

FWIW, I think it’s also very important that we don’t water down the clear biblical moral imperatives of Chrisitanity by equating them to our own cultural values and opinions

For all the hand wringing and moaning by “conservatives” about our national situation- The Ose/McClintock Battle hits at the core of the problem- McClintock is a bonafide, principled, down the line conservative - MILLIONARE Ose is a RINO (think homosexual marraige, Tax and Spend, Abortion, Anti gun etc.) in the tradition of the Arnold. They’re running in a very conservative district but many of the establishment “conservatives” are backing Ose for what I can only assume are politically expedient reasons- McClintock can certainly be competitive for the former Doolittle seat- If we don’t fight for solid conservatives at the grassroots we will never see them at the top of the ticket!

  • Calling all GOP Purists: It's time to support John McCain

OK. The primary season is all but over. McCain has a lock on the nomination. As conservatives, we have failed to put a legitimate “pure” conservative (at least viable conservative) in the race. And I think if I’ve learned anything in the last 8 years- it's that we “pure” conservatives aren't as homogeneous as I once thought.

Bottomline- my son will start his active duty under the next Commander In Chief- just like a whole lot of other sons and daughters. I can guarantee you that as a “pure” conservative I will still “crawl over broken glass” to make sure John McCain is our CIC as instead of Obama or Clinton. It absolutely makes a difference.

In fact the alternative scares the heck out of me! And I am also financially and actively supporting our “pure” conservatives now serving or running at the grass roots level.
