A new AZDHS report is re-enforcing what health officials have been preaching for nearly a year, that the COVID-19 vaccine is your best option to keep from getting the disease. The report found that Arizonans who chose not to get the vaccine are 15 times more likely to die from COVID-19. It also found that the delta variant remains the dominant strain in Arizona. PHOENIX (AP) — A federal appeals court ruled Wednesday that Arizona doesn’t have to give voters who forget to sign their mail ballot time after the election to resolve the issue, rejecting a lawsuit filed by Democrats. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, in a 2-1 decision, overturned a lower-court ruling that found it’s unconstitutional for Arizona to give voters time after an election to resolve mismatched signatures but not missing signatures. The appellate judges said Arizona’s interest in reducing the burden on busy poll workers justifies the disparity. The overwhelming majority of Arizona voters cast mail ballots, which...

Arizona Republican governor Doug Ducey quietly issued an executive order that gives the government access to the personal information of Coronavirus patients, people who take Coronavirus tests, and people who get the Coronavirus vaccine. Ducey also orders the state of Arizona to send information on vaccine recipients to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). On October 7, Ducey signed an “Enhanced Surveillance Advisory” called Executive Order: 2021-19. On that date, the executive order became active for 60 days. Thus, people in Arizona are already having their personal information hoarded by the government and shared with the Feds. Ducey’s...

DENVER - A federal judge has ordered two lawyers who filed a class action lawsuit alleging the 2020 presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump to pay more than $180,000 in attorney’s fees for defendants Dominion Voting Systems, Facebook and others, saying the lawsuit was intended to manipulate "gullible members of the public" and helped spur the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. The now-dismissed suit relied on baseless conspiracy theories spread by the former president and his supporters. It named elected officials in four swing states, Facebook and Denver-based Dominion, whose election machines were at the center of...

PHOENIX (AP) - The Phoenix City Council is reconsidering a decision to enact a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for its employees, less than a week after the announcement was made, as some city leaders are concerned about the negative impact the mandate would have on city services. "I’m incredibly concerned this will cause us to lose employees," said Phoenix City Councilmember Ann O'Brien. Initially, City of Phoenix officials announced that all employees must be vaccinated by Jan. 18 so the city can comply with the rules created by President Joe Biden’s administration. Federal contractors are required to have their employees vaccinated...

City employees were notified of the vaccination mandate through a Thursday email, ABC 15 reported. Employees who aren't vaccinated by Jan. 18 could lose their jobs, AZ Family reported. Employees are not currently required to get booster shots. The city says that because it holds so many federal contracts, all of its employees are subject to President Joe Biden's executive order mandating vaccination for all employees of federal contractors, ABC 15 reported.

PHOENIX — With his legal challenges to vaccine and mask mandates rejected by a federal judge, Attorney General and U.S. Senate candidate Mark Brnovich now wants Gov. Doug Ducey to order lawmakers back to the Capitol in hopes of a legislative fix. The attorney general wants a special legislative session to restore four statutes restricting the powers of local governments, public schools and universities to mandate that employees, staff and students be vaccinated against COVID-19 or wear face coverings. In a letter to the governor, he called the situation “most pressing,” saying he has received complaints in particular from government...

A federal judge on Wednesday rejected a bid by Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich to block President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate for federal employees and contractors. U.S. District Court Judge Michael Liburdi, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, said he was not buying arguments that it’s illegal for the president to impose such a mandate when he is not requiring the same of people entering the country illegally. Liburdi, a Trump appointee, suggested he was not convinced Biden’s mandate forces anyone to do anything or that anyone’s rights of “bodily integrity” were being violated — something Brnovich argued.

PHOENIX - The Republican who has served as president of the Arizona Senate for the past three years and oversaw an unprecedented review of 2020 election results in the state’s most populous county announced Monday she will not seek reelection in 2022. Sen. Karen Fann said in a statement that after nearly 30 years serving in local government and at the Legislature, she will retire. The move comes as the Republican-controlled Legislature prepares for a 2022 session where the results of the election "audit" will be a key issue. The review found President Joe Biden did win Arizona, but it...

Karen Fann, the Republican leader of the Arizona state Senate, has said that Cyber Ninjas, the private company commissioned to conduct an audit of Maricopa County's election results, is now in "breach of contract" with the state for not providing audit-related documentation. In an October 26 letter to Cyber Ninjas and CEO Doug Logan, Fann said that she had previously sent Logan a September 14 letter. In that letter, Fann told the company to submit all its audit-related records to her in order to comply with a court order. Cyber Ninjas only provided 300 records, "an insubstantial percentage of all...

The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday evening unanimously approved a criminal contempt report against Steve Bannon, an ally of former President Donald Trump's, for defying a subpoena from the panel. The vote sends the measure to the full House for a planned vote Thursday. If the chamber approves it, the referral would be sent on to federal law enforcement for potential charges. The nine-member committee, made up of seven Democrats and two Republicans, was united in their scathing response to Bannon's refusal to come before the panel. Bannon no-showed for a deposition...

The audience in the Senate gallery oohed and aahed as Shiva Ayyadurai drew its attention to a “verified and approved” stamp that appeared behind a triangle on the image of an early ballot envelope, unsubtly suggesting that it might have been pre-printed that way. “It’s almost as though it was imaged on there. I don’t want to say Photoshopped, but put on there. But it’s quite fascinating. I’m sure there’s some explanation for this,” Ayyadurai said. The remark elicited laughter from an audience largely composed of audit supporters who believed, without factual basis, that the 2020 election was rigged against...

Phoenix – Former Congressman and Republican gubernatorial candidate Matt Salmon today issued the following statement about President Donald J. Trump’s endorsement in the Arizona gubernatorial race: “I have a great deal of respect for President Trump and the hard work he’s done for our country, but I disagree with his decision today. “The clear fact remains that Kari Lake isn’t a conservative or even a Republican, and she certainly isn’t the MAGA candidate in this race. The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America has come out with a strong pro-vaccination push towards its faithful in the United States, according to an official announcement from the Synod, or committee of bishops that comprise the U.S.-based church. According to the Synodical statement, “the hierarchs unanimously affirmed that the Church not only permits vaccinations against diseases (e.g. polio, smallpox), but that She encourages Her Faithful, after medical tests and approbations, to be vaccinated with the approved vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).” The church also pushed back against attempts of Greek Orthodox Christians to receive “religious exemptions” from the vaccine, stating emphatically...

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) - Homeowners near 35th Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road say there has been a mysterious rattle that is happening more consistently and frequently. "It was just a jolt at first and we'd feel it like 2 or 3 times out of the year," said Timothy Jackson. "As of yesterday, it was about 20 times every hour, just a steady shake." Timothy has videos of his windows rattling during one of the episodes. He said he built his home in 2000 and the shaking started about five years later--but it's never been this bad. "It rattles in the...
