PUEBLO, Colo. - Supporters of Democratic Pueblo state Sen. Angela Giron are knocking on doors and calling those who signed a petition to recall her. Members of Pueblo United for Angela say they want to make sure people know what they signed. Daniel Bravo signed the petition. On Wednesday afternoon, he received two calls from different people. He said the callers asked if he wanted to remove his name from the petition. He said no. Both times he asked who he was speaking to but said each time the caller hung up on him. "I felt like I was being...

A Texas Soldier's Letter to Senator John Kerry Dear Senator Kerry: Since it has become clear that you will probably be the Democratic nominee for President, I have spent a great deal of time researching your war record and your record as a professional politician. The reason is simple, you aspire to be the Commander in Chief who would lead my sons and their fellow soldiers in time of war. Pueblo’s smoking ban is officially suspended. Opponents of the ban submitted enough signatures to the city clerk to challenge the ordinance. As of Wednesday afternoon it was suspended. Now it goes back to the city council. They have the option of repealing it, revising it, or sending it to voters for approval. The Pueblo City Clerk verified 3,564 signatures on the petition drive, enough to reverse the no-smoking ordinance. City Clerk Gina Dutcher says, "We have notified the City/County health department to cease the enforcement of the ordinance by letter to Dr. Christine Nevin-Woods to suspend their enforcement." The next...

The Pueblo City Clerk is in the process of verifying thousands of signatures from those who don't agree with the city's new smoking ordinance. Attorneys for the group against the ban turned in more than 10,000 signatures on Wednesday. If the signatures are determined to be valid, the smoking back will be suspended and the measure will go back to city council. Council could then repeal the ban, modify it or send it to the people for a vote. The attorney for the anti-smoking group, Joe Losavio is hoping for the vote, "If you say 'well there are many more...
