Did you ever feel that eerie deja vu feeling? Here we are again, just three short years after McCain was foisted upon us and those of us who clung stubbornly to our principles along with our Bibles and guns were visciously attacked by "party trumps all" types for refusing to vote for that backstabbing sack of yak-squeeze (thanks Mr. Boortz) as if he were the second coming. Now here we are predictably once again about to nominate a worthless RINO. We have Republicans telling us that while it looks like a liberal, and talks like a liberal and has a...

  • Gingrich Collapses In Iowa, As Ron Paul Surges to the Front

.....A new poll from Public Policy Polling shows that Ron Paul has taken the lead in the Iowa caucus race, while Newt Gingrich's support is fading fast. A different Gallup poll still shows Grinrich still holding the lead, but slipping, while The New York Times has Paul in the lead as well. Gingrich has seen his numbers in the PPP poll drop from 27 percent to 14 percent in just three weeks, while his favorability rating is now split at 46 percent for to 47 percent against, the worst of any candidate not named Jon Huntsman. That's quite a fall...

Doing a quick count up of electoral votes, states won by Obama that he would lose today combined with the GOP ticket holding everything McCain/Palin won in 2008 to see what the outcome would be today. What I have found is that if a Palin, Bachmann, Cain or Perry were to win the nomination to face Obama, and they do as usual and pick a VP to "even out the ticket" the following scenario is the most likely outcome; GOP ticket - 333 electoral votes - 35 states won to Obama/Bidens' 15 - 13 states O won in '08 going...
  • PPP: Michele Bachmann takes 1-point national lead

The Democratic firm Public Policy Polling delivers a new set of national numbers that show Michele Bachmann is not just an early-state phenomenon, and she hasn't yet hit her ceiling: Bachmann's momentum continues to build and she's taken first place by the smallest of margins on PPP's newest national Presidential poll. 21% of Republican primary voters say she's their top choice to 20% for Mitt Romney, 12% for Rick Perry, 11% for Herman Cain, 9% for Ron Paul, 7% for Newt Gingrich, 5% for Tim Pawlenty, and 3% for Jon Huntsman. So Mrs. Grunthor and I were on the HCG diet betweeen mid February and late March. Apparantly HCG increases fertility. Also apparantly vasectomies after so many years can "reconnect." Also, certain physical changes in my bride combined with a positive OTC preg test....adds up to we are most likely preggers. Gotta find out from a doc next week to be sure. We are 42 (me) and 39 (her) respectively. Combined we already have three daughters, 22, 21 and 16. We were kind of looking forward to some alone time but when the Lord sees fit to bless, He does it...
  • Study: Homosexuality, celibacy didn't cause abuse

WASHINGTON – Researchers commissioned by the nation's Roman Catholic bishops to analyze the pattern of clergy sex abuse have concluded that homosexuality, celibacy and an all-male priesthood did not cause the scandal. The study by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York instead said that the problem was largely the result of poor seminary training and insufficient emotional support for men ordained in the 1940s and 1950s, who were not able to withstand the social upheaval they confronted as pastors in the 1960s. Crime and other deviant behavior increased overall in the United States during this period,...

Now that the mid terms are over, it strikes me that for the last Presidential election, there was early entry into the ring. So two questions for us to ponder; 1. Who will declare first? 2. When?

CBN.com – As children, Charles Dudrey and his siblings endured every form of abuse at the hands of their own father. One violent episode sent Charles to the Mayo Clinic. His father slammed Charles’s head against a wall, sending him into a seizure. “The diagnosis for me was grim, and the doctors wanted to do a frontal lobotomy on me to scrape the scar tissue off my brain from the physical abuse," Charles tells The 700 Club. "But my mother said no.” At the age of 11, Charles witnessed the unthinkable, his mother’s murder. He later discovered that his father...

Ok so I filled out my census form with the constitutionally required information (how many people live here) and sent it in. Still, I have had two different census workers show up here telling me that it is my duty to complete the form and that it is their duty to "help me" do that. Both incidents have been polite on either side however I realize that eventually the time will come when they will stop being polite. Last night the census worker was asking for our names. I was sorely tempted to give them made up names but I...

JACKSON, Miss. – Constance McMillen didn't believe her Mississippi school district would really call off her senior prom rather than allow her to show up with her girlfriend and wear a tuxedo. On Thursday, a day after the Itawamba County school board did just that, the 18-year-old lesbian high school senior reluctantly returned to campus to some unfriendly looks, she said. "Somebody said, 'Thanks for ruining my senior year.'" McMillen said. The district announced Wednesday it wouldn't host the April 2 prom. The decision came after the American Civil Liberties Union demanded that officials change a policy banning same-sex prom...

  • The Doug Hoffman Effect strikes in two key races for GOP

With Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman running neck and neck with the Democrat in Tuesday’s special election in New York, some other disaffected Republicans are seeing the third-party route as more viable. And it could hurt the Republicans in those races. In Virginia’s 5th district, state Sen. Robert Hurt’s entry into the GOP primary has spurred little-known candidate Bradley Rees to switch to the Virginia Conservative Party. And in Ohio, another GOP primary contender said this week that he’ll run as a Constitution Party candidate. Both will go at the GOP nominees from their right flanks and try to expose...
