  • Air France crash: plane may have broken up in mid-air

The guy in the story is giving a line of BS -or- he’s just repeating what he heard someone else say...having trained in high-altitude chambers I can tell you that although one would fall unconscious rather quickly (most folks within 15-30 seconds) you do not instantly fall unconscious between 30,000 - 40,000 ft. Unless the high speed aerodynamic stresses got to them first they almost certainly knew what happened...if only for a short period of time.

(This post is for all...not targeting JMack) Its not just a case of a few “bad apples”. Across the country we are witnessing a significant increase in the number of incidents perpetrated by cops over issues that would have outraged the public only a generation ago. These days (as in this most recent example) we are seeing cops treating law-abiding citizens with little regard and denying them what used to be considered their fundamental rights guaranteed by the constitution. The reason, I believe, is that the pool of candidates from which cops are chosen have very little understanding of their own American history and the ideals on which our nation was founded. No knowledge, hence, no appreciation or respect of the fundamental rights of citizens as guaranteed by the constitution. Case in point, most people that I question (law enforcement included) believe that our fundamental rights are *granted* by the constitution and that the constitution puts boundaries on the people. Whereas, the fact is that the rights of the people are endowed on us by our Creator and the constitution puts limits on government (not the people). That’s a very serious and significant distinction. The end result is that the overall culture of the law enforcement community is one in which its members see themselves and the people they are entrusted to serve in a light contrary to what was intended by the founding fathers. I know...I know...someone in law enforcement is going to respond by saying: “Not all cops or people in law enforcement is like that...my daddy served in the blah blah blah for 30 years...I’ve been in law enforcement for blah blah blah...all the cops I know are fine people and put their lives on the line...blah blah blah...” I know, I know. I’m not referring to those people. Their service is appreciated. But the fact is that the overall culture of the law enforcement community is becoming bolder and bolder and clearly has no fear of overstepping their bounds which indicates that their leaders are giving them the impression that such bold behavior will be tolerated and supported. We’d better wake up because the day is not far off when we will reach a ‘tipping point’ of sorts where you will in fact find law enforcement will be routinely used as the tool of our “elected” officials to do their evil bidding. We Americans are no less vulnerable to falling under the yoke of bondage that others [Russians, Chinese, Vietnamese, Venezuelans, etc.] have found themselves in recent history. These events in Denver are an ominous sign which must not be tolerated.

  • S.F. protest against Savage's autism remarks

“I was listening to savage when he said it. I also have an autistic grand son. Make no mistake, he offended me and everyone in my family. He implies that most autistic kids act the way they do because parents allow it! I will never listen to savage again, nor purchase a product from a company that supports this jerk....”

Lighten up! Quit being a victim and listen to the essence of what he’s saying...he’s saying that autism is over-diagnosed and he is absolutely right. Most problems with kids can be fixed with a good paddling to the rump and then some positive reinforcement once the kid gets the message and understands what is expected of him (truely autistic children not included of course).

‘Asinine’ or not its his opinion...an opinion that is shared by a lot of people and to try and deprive a person of his livelihood because someone doesn’t like what he says is wrong.

“I’m law abiding, my apartment has no reason to be searched by law enforcement. It’s unlikely anyone will break into my apartment for a variety of reasons. The most likely reason I’d need it is a riot or a disaster; at which point I hope the police realize they have better things to do than pester me.”

Tell that to the citizens of St. Tammany Parish and New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina when law enforcement invaded their homes and property and illegaly confiscated their personal firearms.

  • Analysis: Hamas Victory Could Be Hollow

Hamas knows the difficulties they will face but I’m sure they’ve figured this into their calculations. All they have to do is keep their army fed & housed and continue to smuggle arms into Gaza (sort of like in Lebanon), say they want to live in peace (for now), and be prepared for future opportunities that are sure to arise as a result of Syria’s and Iran’s efforts to create more unrest in the surrounding region and THEN they will be ready when the move(s) against Israel eventually takes place.

The Muslim community is looking to re-establish the caliphate that was ended in 1924. Taking out Israel is just one step toward that end. Gaza is just one baby step in that direction. It ain’t gonna stop at Israel. Eventually they plan to control the Mid-East region (its about the oil) and subsequently the world economy. From there its just a matter of time because the secularists will not stand up to them and, for now, it just ain’t popular to take a stand against evil...only to make friends with them and hope they will ‘like’ us and be ‘nice’ to us. They (the Muslims) unfortunately believe in something they are willing to die for (as evil as it may be) while the rest of the ‘civilized’ world is too busy fighting over global warming and trying to buy the latest video game or watching who’s gonna win a singing contest on TV. Oh well.

Kind of a bummer for those guys since the story indicates that they are now proceding with a "criminal investigation" of the incident. Why not just an investigation of the accident and let it lead where leads?

Catastrophic Failure of Semiautomatic Handguns [Glock]:

Its interesting how the title of the story implies there is a problem with Glock pistols when, in fact, its common knowledge [or should be] among people who know their weapons that you do not repeatedly chamber the same round over and over or else you risk this very problem [BOOM!].

It appears that the instructor [or whomever the pistol was assigned to] had not fired his weapon in some time -or- did not heed this warning [re-chambering round].

"In West Bank attacks on four churches, Palestinians used guns, firebombs and lighter fluid, leaving church doors charred and walls scorched by flames and pocked with bullet holes. Nobody was reported injured. Two Catholic churches, an Anglican one and a Greek Orthodox one were hit. A Greek Orthodox church was also attacked in Gaza City."

    Ahhh yes...

The wonderful, peaceful, tolerant religion of Islam.

I wonder if the talking heads on TV and our political leaders would classify these acts as coming from "radical fundamentalist muslims" or just your average peace-loving tolerant muslims who are simply offended? Does it really matter?

I'm actually glad Iran's leaders are being so bold since it will make it a lot easier for us (and other nations) to deal with them and other nations which promote Islamic ideology which is, by the way, incompatible with a democratic or democratic republic type of government in a pluralistic society.

  • Boy Suspended For Carrying Knife Into School (He turned it in, still getting expelled)

I carried a pocket knife, as well, and it was a tool that most of my friends kept on their person. Unfortunately, public school adminstrators today have no idea how to truly lead and manage. They do not (will not) know how to properly apply common sense to a situation, hence, you have these ridiculous no tolerance laws/regulations. I think that many of these folks love the no tolerance regs because it gives them the excuse to be a complete jerk under the guise of being "safe" or playing "by the book".
