Help with an explanation of the Cloture Votes

I just read about the hundreth sob story about how the Republican is history, how we are going to fragment, how we are going to come apart at the seams. There is also handwringing about how there is going to be a bloodbath in the house and senate. I am sick and tired of this useless negativity! I just got polled for the second time in a week. I live in north central WV. This one seems to have been a Dem poll. It was heavy on questions about the Dem candidate for my congresional district and questions about Hillary Clinton's recent visit to the area (I had no idea she came to WV!)to help her. Just wanted to post a quick note concerning the voter registration in WV and some more detail. I live in WV, in the northern area where we have our lone Republican representative. Voter registration is about 20% weighted for the dems. But.... you need to know something about WV. While 2/3 of the state is owned locally by dems and our state officials are all dems, it is a different picture in recent years concerning president. I was shocked by this poll that shows Obama ahead by 8 points. I would bet the ranch that is is screwy some way....

The key for stopping McCain is to splint and fragment the states on Super Tuesday. If it comes out a wash with McCain winning some, Romney winning some, and Huckabee winning some it will mean that McCain can still be stopped. The longer it goes the worse McCain will look. But if he wins big Tuesday there will be the tendency on part of our less principled GOP brethren to "rally around" the leader. So we must keep THREE candidates viable to have a chance for Romney or a brokered convention. Thoughts?

I was sitting here thinking something that I have thought before several times in recent months. The Republican Party began as a third party championing the cause of abolition and westward expansion. I have heard the possibility of a brokered convention kicked around alot on here. I think the possibility of the deadlocked convention is in direct proportion to how badly all our current candidates want the presidency. They have a potential to remain past Super Tuesday, even if they do not do well. Romney has the money. Huckabee has the core evangelicals, and seems to be a true believer in his “God chosen” task of being president.
