Check out this link to see a large spike in the Ontario spot electricity price at 3pm EST yesterday in advance of the blackout:

    http://www.theimo.com/imoweb/marketdata/marketToday.asp

Click on "yesterday" in the demand and price graphs.

I haven't heard any reporting about the energy markets at the time of the blackout. Looks like price gouging was happening.

On March 19th we took a little trip
Along with Gen'l Wallace down the 'Racky Mississip
We took a little bacon and we took a little ham
And we caught the bloody Baathis in the city of Saddam

We fired our guns and the Baathis kept a'comin'
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began a runnin'
Across the Tigris River to Syrian plateau

We looked down the river and we seed the Baathis come
And there must have been a hundred of 'em beatin' on the drum
They stepped so high and they made their bugles ring
We stood behind our Abrams tanks and didn't say a thing

We fired our guns and the Baathis kept a'comin'
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
Across the Tigris River to Syrian plateau

Old Gen'l Wallace said we could take 'em by surprise
If we didn't fire our weapons till we looked 'em in the eyes
We held our fire till we seed their faces well
Then we opened up our Warthog guns and gave 'em..
    Well... we...

Fired our guns and the Baathis kept a'comin'
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
Across the Tigris River to Syrian plateau

Yeah they ran through the palms and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go
They ran so fast that the Hueys couldn't catch 'em
Across the Tigris River to Syrian plateau

    Hut, hut, three, four
    Sound off, three, four
