As FBI director Chris Wray performed his usual smarmy stonewalling in Congress Wednesday, a damning report on his $10 billion agency’s “cult of narcissism” was delivered to the House Judiciary Committee by an alliance of retired and active-duty agents and analysts.
The same group gave us the scathing DEI report last year about the FBI’s degraded recruitment standards and cosseting of physically unfit, mentally ill, drug-taking or generally useless agents to satisfy diversity requirements at the expense of merit and experience.
This time they have assessed the entire bureau and drawn several worrying conclusions, including that local law-enforcement partners have developed a “disturbing loss of trust in the FBI” and are subsequently reluctant to share information, with alarming consequences for national security and public safety.
“Police officers and sheriff’s deputies on patrol and detectives investigating illegal activity in their jurisdictions have unparalleled visibility into street-level crime. . . . When this information is not immediately shared with the FBI, the FBI is left to address complex, evolving threats facing the United States with an unacceptably vast and debilitating ‘blind spot’ because [it] does not have enough personnel and resources to see into every corner of the country.”
Loss of trust While Wray testified that the FBI is facing a “complex threat environment” that is unprecedented in his experience, the loss of trust in the bureau on his watch only exacerbates the risks, which include terrorist suspects flooding over the southern border.
Republican members of Congress questioning Wray reflected a widespread distrust of the FBI’s investigation of the assassination attempt against Donald Trump.

FBI Federal bureau of incompetence
To be expected. I wouldn’t trust them either for anything.
“FBI Federal bureau of incompetence”
I wish that were true. They are anything but incompetent, imo.
They are incompetent. They just smooth things over via force, extortion, blackmail, theft, flim flammery , dirty deals, crooked cops, judges , etc.
I thin the “We’re feds so we outrank you” has come to pass. The FBI does not outrank a Sheriff and the Sheriff’s are tired of the feds threatening to pull funds or harass the Sheriff’s departments.
Wray, like his predecessor, is the epitome of Deep State arrogant narcissism which is endangering America’s national security. Most of DC is suffering from this virus.
Feral Bureaucrats of Instigation.
They’re mad at not being told what plots of theirs are being investigated so they can’t shut it down.
How hard would it be to install a trap door, remotely sprung from the chairman’s desk, that opens up directly into the House’s jail cell?
It would appear Wray perjured himself yesterday.
Actively evil in too many cases.
Sounds to me that the rot is built in at this point and just firing a director won’t do much good.
Better to look like the Keystone cops than the Gestapo.
Deep State’s frontmen ate idiots, but the people hiding behind them are not...
Many of the cops and sheriffs belong to groups identified by the FBI as America’s greatest threat: straight white Christian men
I’d like to see just ONE Sheriff arrest the FBI agents, toss their asses in solitary and deny them due process for say a year or so.
If the Feds act up, then toss them in Gen-Pop with FBI painted on their cute little pink jumpsuits. Party Time in Gen-Pop.
As for rank and file FBI, F*CK Them and Hannity too.
To be honest, I never trusted that the rank and file FBI so called were the good guys either. They could even be worse because totally corruptible from the inside with a knee jerk union mentality
BTTT
I agree. Rank and and file FBI are corrupted from the inside by their bosses. The union mentality of circling the wagons is alive and well there.
The job of the FBI is to protect the FBI...
