FORT HOOD, Texas - For two months they lived on the edge, expecting the call at any moment. At last, soldiers with the Army's 4th Infantry Division on Saturday got some welcome news: Ships loaded with their equipment were on their way to the Persian Gulf. It was a big relief. "The speculation's over, the waiting is over, the wondering is over," said Maj. Josslyn Aberle, a public affairs officer. "Now it's time to go do our jobs." Some 33,000 troops of the division or attached to it have been under orders to deploy since Jan. 18. They had to...

In further analyzing the county electoral map I have come to some remarkable conclusions: Of the wealthiest 10 counties in the U.S. all voted for Algore. Of the wealthiest 10% of counties, only 55% voted for Bush (175 of 314) Of the poorest 10% of counties, 75% voted for Bush (238 of 314) Of the remaining 80% of counties, 81% voted for Bush (2055 of 2512) I determined the wealtiest counties by factoring both the median home prices and the average family income. This data was obtained from the US Census.

Analyzing the data associated with the county electoral map in a GIS I have found some remarkable and telling information. 26 of the richest 32 counties in the country voted for algore. This corresponds to his "richest 1%" I would like to see someone, anyone, bring this information up the next time the democRATS try to bring up their usual class warfare mantra.I determined the richest counties by factoring in median home prices and average family income.

At one in 49 million, the chances of hitting Megabucks on one spin are slim, but not as slim as the odds that Vice President Al Gore would make up as much ground as he has in the Florida recount, according to a UNLV study. Economics professor Tom Carroll began running statistical equations Thursday on the net gains both Gore, who gained more than 2,200 votes, and Texas Gov. George W. Bush, who added about 700 votes, have made in the recount. He found that the statistical chances for such large and different totals to occur as a result of random ...
