A “flash mob” of some 200 Chicago residents swarmed Glen Ellyn’s Sunset village pool on Saturday afternoon, forcing their way past the entrance and assaulting the pool manager. A video posted on Instagram shows a crowd pushing manager Christine Giunta-Mayer into the lap pool, which had been surrounded by the mob. (another link to video) Sources tell DuPage Policy Journal that the mob arrived around 4:30 p.m. Glen Ellyn Police arrived soon after and closed the pool. And guess what was instituted the next day? On Sunday, Sunset Pool visitors were required to have a physical pool pass issued by...

‘I will rescue you,’ Lauren Daigle sang 1,400 miles away from Camp Mystic. ...Her name was Lauren Daigle. Her performance was scheduled months in advance; the timing, at this terrible moment, was unplanned. As all those children in Texas remained unaccounted for, she sang: “I hear you whisper underneath your breath / I hear your SOS, your SOS . . .” “I will never stop marching to reach you / In the middle of the hardest fight . . .”

Following the Powerball announcement, Farthing and his girlfriend flew to a beachfront resort in Florida to celebrate his good--and immense--fortune. Before traveling south, however, Farthing failed to take care of one crucial matter: getting permission from his parole officer to leave the Bluegrass State. e has a 16-page rap sheet and a dizzying criminal record that spans 35 years and includes convictions in at least nine counties and from every corner of Kentucky’s penal code. A day into his recent short-lived Florida vacation, Farthing allegedly punched a guest in the face during an 11 PM argument at the TradeWinds Resort...

A program designed to allow low-income Chicago residents to have their traffic fees waived has been made permanent due to a new law. ...We don't know - if you can afford a car, plates, stickers, insurance and gas, then you can afford to either obey the f#$%ing law or pay the fines that go along with breaking the law. Or just take the damn bus.

“He jumped straight down, tried to land, and when he hit the ice, his legs literally went out from under him—they snapped,” Mall security sees a lot. A suspect swan-diving onto an ice rink mid-escape and breaking his legs? That’s probably a new one. "... the suspect shouted, “Come get me,” right before jumping."

A simple flat tire on an Audi should be a 10-minute fix. But thanks to today's hyper-connected vehicle systems, a TikTok video showed how it turned into a half-hour ordeal involving fault scans, resets, and drive cycles—all because of a nail.

Car burglars fired at least 30 shots at a 27-year-old man who confronted them during a vehicle break-in... If you discover a theft in progress, do not exit the house to confront an offender. Instead, fire your home defense weapon out a barely opened window while crouched down low. A rifle would work best in terms of accuracy, but a shotgun loaded with slugs would be as good. Handguns are an iffy proposition in these types of events. If it's a catalytic converter thief, try for the lookout first....or the getaway driver. Those are the ones who might shoot back....

A passenger walked up to a gate agent at Washington Dulles airport United Airlines gate D12 – apparently planning to board while the previous flight was deplaning – saying things like “who wants it first?” and then punched the agent hard enough to knock him down.

To make matters worse, the FBI now has 38,000 staff, compared to the 4,602 at the height of the witch hunt in 1950—and access to technology beyond Hoover’s wildest dreams. While Washington politicians worry about this force being weaponized against each other, the real issue for progressives is whether it is being used for repression of dissent.

“Do you want to see my guns?” he asked. One of Karp’s hobbies is long-range shooting, whose targets fall outside the normal parameters of a firearm, he explained. He struck a stance to show the blend of practice and instinct that combines for the perfect shot. Those fans, Karp said, tend to have been through an experience in their own lives that mirrors the skepticism that greeted Palantir. “I said X, everyone in the establishment said Y, and Y meant X was stupid,” he said. He added: “The Y people essentially are complete bigots, by the way. Please write that...

A Democrat Congressman blows up over funding cuts, but the waste is so bad even the crowd walks away. Congress does and we control it with meaningful spending like $330 million to afghanis to help them grow crops because how else are we supposed to get heroin in the states or $20 million for an Iraqi version of Sesame Street

While the victim was not injured, the two robbers were not so fortunate. One of them, a 42-year-old man, collapsed about 20 feet from the school’s front entrance. He was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head. We really need to sponsor or inspire someone to give CCL holders who successfully defend themselves or others a free box of ammo after incidents like these. Obviously, this guy has done his range time, but who doesn't like to have another fifty shots free of charge? In the early years, in addition to giving a free replacement...

Bally’s, the big casino operator, is selling shares only to women and minorities in its new gambling resort mecca being built in Chicago’s River West neighborhood. A minority preference of some kind was a condition to city approval of the project, and this is what the city and Bally’s agreed to. Here’s the deal that’s offered, which is detailed in the company’s S-1 filing with the Securities Exchange Commission and other company materials: Instead of just buying one share for $25,000, a buyer can put up as little as $250 and Bally’s will loan you the remainder of the purchase...
