Meanwhile in Russia, in In 2001, 1.31 million children were born in Russia, while 2.11 million abortions were performed. In 2023, Official statistics put the number of live births at 1.25 million and abortions at 450,000 in 2020 - over a 75% decline. Russia’s rate is about 12 abortions per 1,000 women.

Russia's live births were about 1.2 million in 2000 and are same or slightly higher now.
Compare that to Western Europe if you like. They are no different, if not slightly better.

The question is about how Russia will ever increase its fertility rate.
