Holy and Profane In just eight days much of the world will celebrate and observe Christmas. In America alone 92% of the population will observe Christmas. This includes professing Christians as well as non-Christians. In fact 81% of people who are anything but Christian will also celebrate Christmas. This includes Muslims, atheists, Wiccans and various pagan earth cults. I am part of the 8% who doesn't observe Christmas at all. Now the primary reason why I don't observe it is that I KNOW and BELIEVE that the Lord God has given us HIS days to observe and that these days...
  • Clinton campaign mocks Catholics, Southerners, ‘needy Latinos’ in emails

Long before Hillary Clinton called millions of Americans a “basket of deplorables,” her top campaign advisers and liberal allies openly mocked Catholics, Southerners and a host of other groups, according to newly released emails that offer a stunning window into the vitriol inside the Clinton world less than a month before Election Day. The emails, published by WikiLeaks after a hack of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s private account, also show Clinton campaign officials and Democratic leaders disparaging supporters of Sen. Bernard Sanders as “self-righteous” whiners, calling Hispanic party leaders such as Bill Richardson “needy Latinos,” labeling CNN anchor Jake...
  • Why Are Trump Haters So Angry About the Debate?(Vanity)

One can't help but notice that there is a strong contingent of what can only be described as people who hate the idea of Donald Trump being President. It's descended into outright personal hatred by some. But wow...ever since he announced that he wouldn't be doing the debate it's gone up to a whole new level. My question is...why?? The main insult of detractors now seems to be "Oooh...Trump can't handle questions from a girl how's he going to handle (FILL IN THE BLANK DESPOT)?" Or Trump is afraid of Cruz. Or Trump is afraid to debate. Now if these...

What were Ted Cruz’s aspirations in high school? Well, the presidential candidate told classmates they were for power and fortune, mixed with a little bit of world domination. The YouTube user who uploaded the viral video “Young Ted Cruz” tells Yahoo News that the clip was part of a senior class video from the Texas senator’s high school in Houston.

If you are not a Christian or do not consider yourself a Christian stop reading. This doesn't apply to you. But if you ARE a Christian or consider yourself a Christian please think about this. Most Christians who observe Halloween see it as harmless. But the real question is "What would Jesus do?". When we apply our modern standards to biblical truth it looks ridiculous. And that's the intent of the following...to show how ridiculous it is for Christians to keep Halloween. It's humorous but I guarantee it will make some of you angry. If it DOES make you angry...

Many of the detractors of Donald Trump will look at a comment he makes and say such things as "Trump isn't serious". Or "How Trump is immature". Or otherwise hint that because Donald Trump makes outrageous statements that he's an idiot, buffoon or both. What they fail to realize is that this is a deliberate strategy by Trump to get free coverage. And it works. "The Art of the Deal" was written by Trump in the late 1980's. What's interesting is the insights it gives us in the current Presidential campaign. This is from "The Art of the Deal" under...
  • Kentucky Clerk: Marriage License Law (Vanity)

I thought it would be interesting to look at the laws by which elected County Clerk of Rowan, Kentucky was elected to abide by. The County Clerk does much more than just issue marriage licenses. This document, Duties of Elected County Officials details the various duties. Concerning marriage licenses this is what it says:The county clerk issues marriage licenses (KRS 402.080) and files and records all marriage certificates (KRS 402.220 and 402.230). Military discharges may also be recorded in the county clerk’s office (KRS 422.090). On or before the 10th day of each month, the county clerk reports to the...

So here I was kind of watching Trump do all the interviews after the debate. And he was going after every journalist, by name, who said anything negative about him. And when he does that he'll usually mock, ridicule or denigrate them. It's very clear and very purposeful. Now Trump detractors attribute that to being "thin skinned" or that he's some kind of baby that can't take tough questions. Really? The guy has been a player in the cutthroat world of business and finance for decades. This is clearly a tactic. And then it hit me. Recognize this? RULE 5:...

This quote is from a statement put out by Trump concerning Macy's. He nails it. "Both Macy's and NBC totally caved at the first sight of potential difficulty with special interest groups who are nothing more than professional agitators, who are not looking out for the people they purport to represent, but only for themselves. It is people like this who are actually running our country because our leaders are weak and ineffective." There is so much truth in that statement, especially the last line. Nobody stands up to those morons and the basically make policy by screaming and whining...

LANSING, MI – There are 10 individuals in Michigan who are being monitored for potential Ebola exposure, according to the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH). “We’re working with the local health departments to monitor, it’s actually 10 individuals now who are at low risk of Ebola right now,” said MDCH spokesperson Jennifer Smith. Low risk means that these people have no known exposure to Ebola, no symptoms and are in generally good health. What makes them a risk at all is they have traveled to regions of Africa where the virus exists. Ebola is a virus that presents with...

The Department of Health has confirmed a patient is currently in isolation and undergoing testing in a Honolulu area hospital. Officials told KHON2 Ebola is a possibility, however the patient has yet to be specifically tested for the virus. Two major red flags are if the patient has a fever and if he or she has been to West Africa in the past 21 days, officials said. They would not confirm which factors, if any, apply to the patient. “We’ve asked the hospitals to tell us about is anyone with a travel history and anyone with a fever, and when...

A patient placed in isolation at a Honolulu-area hospital Wednesday may be infected with the Ebola virus, officials told KHON-TV. The Department of Health confirmed to the Hawaii outlet that the patient is currently undergoing a battery of tests, but has yet to be specifically tested for the deadly virus. The officials declined to provide KHON with any details regarding symptoms and would not say whether or not the patient has been to West Africa recently.

SNIP With each day, the small group of caregivers trying to cope with the worst outbreak of Ebola on record falls further and further behind as the pace of the virus’s transmission rapidly accelerates. Health facilities are full, and an increasing number of infected people are being turned away, left to fend for themselves. SNIP The sick arrive each day, hopeful that their timing and symptoms will get them past the gate. Even so, 7 in 10 will die inside, slightly better odds than the 9 in 10 who are dying in the community, Madden said. SNIP Across Monrovia, such...

Liberia: 'Somebody had to do it' - Turning people away from an overwhelmed Ebola treatment centre 12 September 2014 Pierre Trbovic, an anthropologist from Belgium, arrived in the Liberian capital, Monrovia in late August to help with MSF’s response to the Ebola epidemic. Finding the treatment centre full, health staff overwhelmed, and sick people queuing in the street, Pierre volunteered for the heartwrenching job of turning people away. Soon after arriving in Monrovia, I realised that my colleagues were overwhelmed by the scale of the Ebola outbreak. Our treatment centre – the biggest MSF has ever run – was full,...

THE Ebola epidemic in West Africa has the potential to alter history as much as any plague has ever done. There have been more than 4,300 cases and 2,300 deaths over the past six months. Last week, the World Health Organization warned that, by early October, there may be thousands of new cases per week in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Nigeria. What is not getting said publicly, despite briefings and discussions in the inner circles of the world’s public health agencies, is that we are in totally uncharted waters and that Mother Nature is the only force in charge...
  • 7 Harmful Side Effects Pot Legalization Caused Colorado

SNIP As I reported a few weeks ago, some professors published a peer-reviewed article on the negative social costs to outright legalization. I noted that although overall traffic fatalities in Colorado have gone down since 2007, they went up by 100 percent for operators testing positive for marijuana—from 39 in 2007 to 78 in 2012. (Colorado legalized marijuana for medical usage in 2009, before legalizing marijuana for other uses in 2012.) Furthermore, in 2007, those pot-positive drivers represented only 7 percent of total fatalities in Colorado, but in 2012 they represented 16 percent of total Colorado fatalities. This new report...

In a speech in Wisconsin on Thursday, President Barack Obama insulted perhaps the most fervent members of his political base: art history majors. The politically clumsy moment occurred during the president’s remarks at General Electric’s Waukesha Gas Engines facility. After extolling his own economic policies at some length, Obama observed that “manufacturing jobs typically pay well” in the United States. “We want to encourage more of them,” he said. Then, he began to speak — apparently extemporaneously — about the benefits of working in America’s ever-diminishing manufacturing sector.

Jesus Christ: The Real Story ^ | unknown | Various
Jesus Christ's Disciples Understood Him to Be the Creator When the early followers of Christ say Jesus is the One through whom all things were created, they are clearly saying that Jesus is God. The book of Hebrews speaks of the Son as the Being through whom God created the worlds (Hebrews 1:2) and who "sustains all things by his powerful word" (verse 3, NRSV). Only God is great enough to do such things. John confirms that Jesus was the divine Word through whom God created the universe: "All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made...

Today's reading comes from the book of Isaiah, chapter 58, verse 13 and 14. These verses contain basic instructions for observing the Sabbath of the Lord God and the blessings that God promises will follow for those who do.********************************** Isa 58:13 "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, Isa 58:14 Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD;...

The Sabbath in the Age to Come God created the Sabbath for mankind and there will yet come a time when all mankind will keep God's Sabbath. God created the Sabbath for mankind (Mark 2:27), and there will yet come a time when all people will keep God's Sabbath. The Bible speaks of God's Kingdom as being established on earth when Jesus Christ returns to rule as "King of Kings and Lord of Lords" (Revelation 11:15; 19:11-16). In addition to ruling over sons of God who will be changed to spirit beings and rule with Christ in the Kingdom of...
