Have I missed it, or has anyone reacted to the Hannity/DeBlasio interview?

Like “Mars” on National Geographic TV, I’ve been DVR’ing “Life Below Zero”, and found it to be some great TV. Unfortunately, like “Mars”, I just watched an episode that propagandized “climate change” to the point that the Goebbels photo would apply. So disappointing.

I had such high hopes for this series, because I am intensely interested in space exploration and the possible man landing on Mars. Add to that, it's directed by Ron Howard, so I had every expectation of a quality production. Instead of an intriguing documentary on what could occur with a man landing on Mars, we get a sermon on corporate exploitation of the earth and, eventually, another freaking planet! Including fawning interviews with Greenpeace activists. Such a disappointment.

With just days until his high school graduation, a Minnesota student was suspended Monday for displaying a Confederate flag on school grounds, and his participation in Friday’s commencement ceremony was questioned. But after an early-morning protest Tuesday in his support and a meeting between the family and school officials, senior Cody Nelson was back in class and will graduate with his classmates Friday night. Nelson was sent home Monday morning from Crosby-Ironton High School after he refused to remove the flag from the back window of his car that was parked on school grounds. Principal Jim Christenson had asked him...

Soucheray: It's time to pound your fist, Obama. And mean it. Pioneer Press POSTED: 11/18/2015 12:01:00 AM CST | Joe Soucheray: Those booms, that smell - it's always something After the carnage in Paris, French president Francois Hollande, acting against stereotype, launched what was called a ferocious assault by air of targets in Raqqa, Syria, the Islamic State's de facto capital. French warplanes dropped 20 bombs on facilities used by ISIS, including a command center, a military training facility and an arms depot, the French military said. A group of anti-ISIS activists in Raqqa, as they are wont to do,...

UPDATE @ 5:01: The Supreme Court has denied Tom Emmer's petition. Opinion to follow later. The Supreme Court heard arguments this afternoon into Tom Emmer's voter-counting petition, which asks the court to delay tomorrow's certification until they can ensure there were no more votes than voters on Election Day. Some keywords? Voter receipt, voter certificate, election register, polling roster. Republican attorney Diane Bratvold argued that several counties improperly counted voter receipts, rather than signatures, when comparing the number of voters and ballots. That count determines how many "excess" ballots must be discarded. The law says either "voter certificates" or signatures...

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Republican Party of Minnesota took the governor's race to the state Supreme Court on Wednesday, seeking to shrink the ballot pool in the undecided contest between Democrat Mark Dayton and RepublicanTom Emmer before a recount begins after Thanksgiving. A person with direct knowledge of the filing told The Associated Press that the GOP was asking the high court to force election officials to remove ballots in all precincts statewide where more votes were cast than the number of voters recorded.

There’s no denying the enormous, life-changing and positive impacts U.S. Rep. Jim Oberstar has had on Northeastern Minnesota. From rescuing Eveleth Taconite to landing Cirrus Aviation for Duluth to making safe the death trap that was Minnesota Highway 8 to getting the Bong Bridge built, his list of achievements practically stretch the length of the massive, 18-county 8th Congressional District, where Oberstar has served admirably as representative since 1974. But there’s also no escaping the chilling reality of our nation’s economic state. Unemployment hovers around 10 percent, despite stimulus and other efforts to turn the tide. Health-care reform has companies...

Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty Tuesday ordered all state agencies to not to submit applications to any health care funding from the federal government related to the health care overhaul. Any applications must be either required by law or approved by the governor's office. Pawlenty, who appears to be gearing up for a run for president in 2012, has long decried the health care overhaul, which opponents call Obamacare, and has pledged to join a lawsuit to undo it. “Obamacare is an intrusion by the federal government into personal health care matters and it’s an explosion of federal spending that does...

Barring some unforeseen major physical setback, Brett Favre will be at training camp in Mankato when they open up the end of July, a source has told WCCO's Mark Rosen. That source said that Favre and the Vikings have indeed come to a contractual agreement, with heavy incentives. The Vikings equipment manager has already ordered number 4 purple jerseys with his name on it.

ATLANTA - Republican presidential candidate John McCain, who has said economics isn't his strong suit, said Friday tax cuts and job training are needed to lift an economy that is either in recession or is headed toward one.

Well, the writers strike is over, the Oscars will go on and, by golly, we conservatives just can’t wait to watch Hollywood pat itself on the back for another year of anti-American, anti-military, anti-traditionalist filmmaking. And while red-carpet anticipation is giving me the shivers, I can’t help but imagine an alternative Oscar ceremony in a different kind of Hollywood with this list of exciting best-picture nominees: * “Oono.” Hilarity ensues when a 16-year-old girl finds herself pregnant and gives the baby away to a similarly unmarried neurotic so that the infant grows up to become a drug-addicted loser and dies...

Gov. Tim Pawlenty on Thursday discounted talk about any future in national office after winning a second term in an election season unfavorable toward Republicans. At a news conference, he said his "complete focus and total focus" will be on serving as governor, and he also restated his commitment to serving a full four years. Pawlenty was asked about his name appearing on pundits' lists of vice presidential possibilities. "Which list? My wife said I was on a different list," he joked, adding later, "I am not worried about or focused on national elective office." GOP state Chairman Ron Carey...

BAGHDAD - While U.S. politicians and generals in Washington debate the possibility of civil war in Iraq, U.S. officers here and troops who patrol Baghdad daily say it has already begun. U.S. soldiers in and around Baghdad interviewed in the past week cite a long list of evidence that the center of the nation is unraveling: Villages have been abandoned by Sunni and Shiite Muslims; Sunni insurgents have killed thousands of Shiites in bombings and assassinations; Shiite militia have tortured and killed hundreds, if not thousands, of Sunnis. And neighborhoods have become open battlegrounds at night. "There's one street that's...

The Condoleezza Rice State Department is proving more adept at diplomacy than the Colin Powell State Department. Part of her success is tied to her cagey effort to move John Bolton from Washington to New York, where he serves -- minus Senate confirmation -- as the ambassador to the United Nations. Problem is, he's plowing just as wide a path of destruction through the United Nations as he plowed through overall U.S. foreign policy when he worked in Washington. Rice deserves a fair amount of credit for the change in her department. She is close to President Bush, so she's...

It was the smile that told the story. If you wanted to know what kind of game or practice or news conference Daunte Culpepper was about to produce, you needed only to check his expression. The presence of that grin, former coach Mike Tice used to say, always foretold success.

There's a PBS special on Ricky Nelson in my area tonight. I'm assuming it's on at different times/dates in different areas, so check your local listings. While not a big PBS fan, I'll go out on a limb and say this is a can't miss if you have any appreciation for the "Golden Age of Rock n Roll." While some may see him as a Frankie Avalon-type bubble-gum artist, I think he's right up there with The King, and I don't consider myself a musical novice. May I also suggest you pay close attention to the James Burton segments. Both...
