I don’t know if this will fly. Many years ago the main newspaper in Indianapolis would publish the names of everybody obtaining government assistance every quarter. They got hauled into court [I think by the ACLU]. They had to stop this practice because the court said they were violating the privacy of the recipients.
I’m old enough to remember that the Post Office used to have a savings account system. [I was one of the patrons.] As I recall, they paid a magnificent 2% interest on their deposits. They stopped offering this service in the mid to late 1940’s.
Since you’ve quoted a remark about Angie’s List, you may be interested that this company has had two profitable quarters in the last twenty years and is now asking the City pf Indianapolis for Eighteen million dollars for this expansion that they’er putting on hold.
My grandfather fought in the Spanish-American War. After the shooting stopped we were faced with the Moro Insurrection in the Phillipines, where the Muslims were doing the same stuff that they are now.
This was stopped when we captured a number of prisoners, had some of them watch while we shot others and buried them [the ones shot] with pigs. We turned the viewers loose and let them report to their comrades what fate awaited them. The insurrection stopped immediately.
