It’s always the same people too. Rand, Massie, etc. The ones who were so “principled” that they vote with the Dems so frequently and can’t “bring themselves” to endorse Trump in the campaigns.
If by updating they mean repealing it, all for it!
It really is true that Reagan got rolled when it comes to immigration. Naive about how every Democrat policy proposal since the 60s has been about gaining votes. Republicans get played so often.
I don’t like Lemon but a lot of this proves that in cable news and sometimes even political PAC gigs your political ideology depends on who’s giving you a paycheck.
You can bet that the Dems would never treat their own this way (e.g. Menendez), especially when the majority is so tight.
I’m not sure what benefits Republicans think they’re going to get out of this. I am also very uncomfortable with them removing somebody from elected office without a conviction or having their day in court
Short answer is we have convoluted garbage like post-election day arrival of ballots in many states, and somehow nearly all of those late votes go Democrat, along with pollworkers not being hired around the clock to continue counting through the night.
We also have provisional balloting since around the 2004 elections, which I think is the biggest culprit of the slowdowns.
There was a universal overreaction to the 2000 election and the closeness of it, and it resulted in a mad rush to make it “easier” for people to vote. So, they invented the provisional ballot and things like same-day voting and no excuse absentee voting/early voting for a month took off like a rocketship.
All of these things advantage the Dim campaigns because of the unions and the easier ability to GOTV in an urban core.
Republicans are always 10 steps behind everything.
Well, it’s a legitimate concern. Soros/PACs/Voter reg nonprofits allow the Dims to have the advantage they have with turnout and messaging. Pack that in with a biased media and it puts us in the hole. It’s crucial that the grassroots fund marginal races. Sending money to Matt Gaetz, who is in an R+40 district, is counterproductive
