Matthew McConaughey may have ruled out running for Texas governor in the near future, but that doesn’t mean he’s stepping away from politics completely. In a recent episode of Under the Skin, the podcast fronted by British comedian and activist Russell Brand, McConaughey spoke out about political divisiveness and the need to “meet in the middle.” Like Brand, he also criticized Hollywood figures and those on the “far left” who he says antagonize and belittle those with other beliefs. ‘Oh, they’re dumb, they’re voting for Brexit, they’re voting for Trump,’” Brand said of the “condemnation and criticism of ordinary working...

Now, word of caution - maybe this estimation is totally normal but essentially... Justin Hart @justin_hart NYC is estimating hospitalizations and cases by ASSUMING that OTHER patients who visited ERs with SIMILAR symptoms in a database should AUTOMATICALLY be counted as #COVID19 patients Stop me if I'm wrong but that could be ONE of the f

John M. Murtagh Fire in the Night The Weathermen tried to kill my family. 30 April 2008 During the April 16 debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, moderator George Stephanopoulos brought up “a gentleman named William Ayers,” who “was part of the Weather Underground in the 1970s. They bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol, and other buildings. He’s never apologized for that.” Stephanopoulos then asked Obama to explain his relationship with Ayers. Obama’s answer: “The notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was eight years old, somehow...

There is no deal likely, not today, not tomorrow, not this weekend, and the holidays next week move this melodrama to late next week. And why? Because the emails and faxes and phone calls to Capitol Hill are running 10 to 1 against the Hank Paulson deal. Ten to one against from the Democrats. One hundred to one against from the Republicans. Because the American taxpayer is making a stand. Because the House GOP has found the high ground, and the American citizenry is on the same high ground. Why do we see (right) Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and Chuck...

When Sen. Barack Obama was given the floor to speak during White House negotiations, according to White House aides, he did so raising concerns about a House Republican alternative to the Paulson/Bernanke $700 billion bailout. But those concerns weren't necessarily his, as he was not aware of the GOP plan before reviewing notes provided him by Paulson loyalists in Treasury prior to entering the meeting. According to an Obama campaign source, the notes were passed to Obama via senior aides traveling with him, who had been emailed the document via a current Goldman Sachs employee and Wall Street fundraiser for...

It was September, 1968. John McCain's father, John S. McCain, had become admiral of the Pacific Fleet the summer before, and the son's...
