Is it really shocking that communities that lived in this area grew food so they would not all starve to death?

What did we expect? That someone was trucking food in for them from the local grocery store?

It seems odd that while a baker in Colorado can be sued to bankruptcy for not putting a specific message he disagrees with on a cake he is making from scratch, that performers of a musical open to the public can legally refuse to perform simply because they don’t like the politics of one of the people attending.

If I had bought a ticket for that show, I would sue for my money back, because the center and the production did not present the performance I was paying for.

Also, it is pretty typical of the modern Drag Queen movement to cause a scene and disruption at a place where normally decorum is the key.

As an aside, I have noticed that people really have lost the entire idea of “civil presentation”. We went to a musical performance at the Kennedy Center last year, and not only were a large number of people dressed like they had just come from the gym, people were constantly on their phones texting, playing games,and otherwise being inconsiderate jerks to the groups who were performing on stage, and the audience members who had to put up with their phone distractions.

So, apparently they DO understand the concept of a person being in a location where they were not part of the group, and they do understand asking a person to leave if they are not part of the group that is supposed to be in the space.

If only they had explained that to the kid.

I will disagree. Schools, even with the random shootings, and with the daily bullying that since COVID the schools have given up on, are still the safest place for children.

Meaning, if you look at all the bad things that happen to children, and where they happen, being in school has the lowest rate of bad things.

Interestingly, it is more dangerous to travel too and from school, than to actually be in school, but that is in part because of high school students getting into accidents while texting and driving to/from school.

And kids have more injuries at home. They are at home more hours than school, but asleep for a lot of them.

It is tragic that the Democrats have decided that kids killed by other kids in school are the ONLY kids they actually care about, because we could do good work to protect 100 times more kids who get injured and killed in many other places.

And NDA paid to a blackmailer to stop them from speaking is also not illegal, and was NOT the crime that he was charged with, so the judge’s ruling is completely stupid.

The “crime” he was charged with was writing inaccurate memos on his checks, and writing the description of payments matching the invoices in his ledger.

The “second” crime which made the 1st crime a felony was his conspiracy to illegally influence an election — to which the prosecution provided as evidence discussions Trump had with official white house advisors, something that CLEARLY was protected as part of the President’s functions.

Even the judge and prosecutor have noted that, the request for moving the trial cited that, and the judge completely ignored it, and did not even give a reason for ignoring it.

Remember that SpaceX has nothing to do with “X”, and it was Brazil that said they were going to target SpaceX that is causing this move by SpaceX.

personally, I make that argument a lot, that if we want Trump off our backs, the best way at this point is to elect him, which also has the advantage of saving our country for 4 more disastrous years of Harris and democrats screwing everything up.

We are already likely to lose the state because we had to pick Kari Lake who has yet to win anything, but we were told that losing elections was the price you pay for not sacrificing your principles.

Now we are supposed to sacrifice our principles. Which we could have done with a Republican candidate who would easily win the senate seat.

Yeah, because we should instead hope that nobody ever hears what a candidate is pushing, so people can be ignorant and vote the way they are told.

Because he’s not a conservative or pro-life, and wants to be able to blames something other than his own ineptitude for losing his election, and picking a bunch of losers in 2022.

Meanwhile, principled pro-life candidates won elections in 2020 and 2022.

She in fact is her own corporate creation, with the help of her father, a financial planner. She is savvy at what she does, and has worked rather hard at the image which now makes her arguably the most successful female musician of all time.

She’s almost comically non-political, to the point where most political articles that reference her seem mostly like vain attempts to cash in on her popularity.

She has a billion rabid fans (that’s hyperbole) and they regularly get horribly upset that she isn’t supporting some cause or another that they think she should.

Instead, she mostly follows the “conservative” philosophy, that to make the most money and remain popular, you should do what you do best, and give your customers what they want, and not alienate any possible customers by tying your brand to some political cause.

I mean, he had a republican house and senate until he lost them in 2019, but given his predilection for getting what he considers insufficiently loyal republicans voted out of office, and thereby likely leading to the democrats controlling the house and senate in 2025, even if Trump wins — how is he going to get ANY of his promises done this time, when he could not before?

Except maybe he’ll be able to work with the democrats to kill pro-life state laws Trump disagrees with, like Trump promised he would. But my guess is that is not something you are looking forward to, or at least I hope not.

Do you work for government, and think that he COULD find a way to circumvent the constitution, and do you believe he WOULD do so?

We can’t legally “join” anything without a treaty ratification.

Trump is a childish narcisist who couldn’t believe he didn’t win the election.

But if he managed to win in 2024, he would not even be eligible to RUN again in 2028, so in what world could he ever deny THAT election and try to overturn it?

And if he couldn’t find a way to stay in the white house when he insisted he had legitimately won the election, how could he possibly find a way to stay in office when he isn’t even on the ballot and therefore could never have “won” the 2028 election?

I think it’s more that Trump is not the typical adult, and often does not act like an adult.

Of course he won’t — Donald Trump is too scared to show up on a stage with anybody who might actually call him out or show him up.

I do love when someone actually gets offended by the idea that Donald Trump might be called by a “kids version” of his actual first name, in response to a Trump post where Trump is using a made-up name for his political opponent.

BTW, what exactly is the “negative” being called out by “sanctimonious”? Is Trump saying DeSantis is too religious? Supports to many conservative religious values? Is too hard on abortionists? Was opposed to Trump allowing states to shut down and fine churches during COVID?

OTOH, there were a lot of bad things in Obamacare, that have actually been repealed, including some of the wild freedoms given to the executive branch to define stuff, the medical device tax, etc.

And while the SC did save us from the states having to expand medicare, there are fewer and fewer states who are availing themselves of that.
