Maybe your experiences have been different, but whenever I call the Capitol (even during business hours), I often reach voicemail for a Senator (which usually is full). So, I thought I would start a list of non-Washington offices, where we can call and make our opinions known. I took the information from www.senate.gov. For starters, here is information for Senator Santorum: Altoona Regency Square, Suite 220 Route 220 North Altoona, PA 16601 (814) 946-7023 Erie 1705 West 26th Street Erie, PA 16508 (814) 454-7114 Harrisburg 555 Walnut Street Harrisburg, PA 17101 (717) 231-7540 Lehigh Valley 3802 Federal Office Building 504...

I have a firewall rule on this router that denies access to port 5190 (AOL Instant Messenger). However, I have noticed that if someone already is running AIM (because the rule is disabled), that they can CONTINUE to do so EVEN AFTER I re-enable the rule. However, any new attempts to start AIM are unsuccessful if the rule is in place. Am I correct that pre-existing sessions continue to run? Thanks.

The Political Conversion of New York's Evangelicals By ANDREA ELLIOTT he signs are all around. Storefront churches dot the commercial landscapes of the Bronx and Queens. Twice as many churchgoers - about 15,000 - pray weekly at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, compared with five years ago. Some 200,000 New Yorkers tune in daily to Radio Vision Cristiana, an AM radio station. And last March, thousands of evangelicals gathered on the steps of the State Supreme Court in the Bronx to protest the idea of same-sex marriage. Evangelism is flourishing not just in the red states of the nation's...

Sorry if one exists already. I don't know about you, but right now I literally cannot breathe. My heart is racing and my stomach is stapled shut. We REALLLY need to pray, because even though we don't know the future, God does. So, here goes.... Heavenly Father, we know You are sovereign. We put this election into your hands. Take away the anxiety we all feel, and may You be glorified. We trust that whatever happens will be the best for us. We repent of our sins and pray that would turn and hear us. In Jesus name amen.

Hi, By now you probably have tired of the election commercials, mail and telephone calls (many of which I myself have made). I realize too that some spirited discussion has occurred in the church, via e-mail, about the presidential race. In this note, however, I have no intent of criticizing anyone else's views. Rather, I wish to state simply why I am supporting the Bush-Cheney ticket on Tuesday. At the risk of sounding trite, I do believe this election concerns the future of our country, and the kind of country [older daughter], [younger daughter] and your own children will inherit....

I need help in configuring a Microsoft MN520 wireless notebook adapter. It is being installed into a second notebook for the first time. I no longer have the CD that came with the card, so I downloaded the driver from microsoft.com and installed it. I inserted the card, and Windows found it. The card is now listed as a device in the contro panel. I am unable, however, to find a screen that lets me configure the card. For example, I need to tell it my encryption key. Also, I am missing, in my system tray, the icon that shows...

Sahas' remark upsets group Gina Zotti , Staff Writer 03/12/2004 COATESVILLE -- The Anti-Defamation League issued a letter to Dick Saha expressing its displeasure of his comment comparing the Coatesville City Council to Nazis. The letter was tempered with the acknowledgment that Saha apologized soon thereafter and the hope the gesture will "contribute to the damage you have done." The letter was written by ADL Regional Director Barry Morrison, dated March 9 and addressed to Dick Saha. It explained that the organization takes no stance on the land use issue, but has "very strong feelings about matters where expressions of...

Many of you are familiar with the plight of the Saha family of Chester County, PA. For the past five years, they have been fighting the city of Coatesville PA, which is trying to condemn the Saha farm in order to build a golf course. The city is "home rule." In November 2003, Coatesville voters approved three amendments to the city charter. These amendments basically prohibit the city from continuing its activity in this area, unless voters agree. The city council believes these amendments are unconstitutional, and may soon challenge them in court. In the meantime, however, they seem to...

I have an audio clip that I would like to make available to people who visit my web site. The audio file is currently in .WAV format. Please confirm my understanding: - I believe that I can simply put this file "as is" on my page, and people can play it. However, I believe that the .WAV format is non-streamable? So, they can play the file, but they would have do download it completely before doing so? - Therefore, would I have to convert the .WAV file to a streaming format? Is .RAM one such format (to be playable by...

Years ago I read a review of the Charles Bronson movie "Death Wish," written by a person who considered him/herself politically liberal. This review was written several years after the movie came out, and reflected a second viewing of the movie by this reviewer. In reviewing the movie the second time, the reviewer expressed shock and dismay that he or she was no longer shocked and dismayed at the actions of the Bronson character, but actually was (if only inwardly) was cheering at his actions. The reviewer admitted (I think) that unpleasant incidents in the years between the reviews caused...

NEWSLifeWay’s Asian-Themed VBS Material Draws Protests Bob Allen11-27-03 “Far-out Far East Rickshaw Rally—Racing to the Son™ is a VBS race that will have kids dashing through the streets of Tokyo, climbing Mt. Fuji, and diving for pearls,” says a promotion of LifeWay Christian Resources’ 2004 Vacation Bible School curriculum on the company’s Web site. But some Asian Americans are taking offense at the use of stereotypes in Southern Baptist churches like rickshaw races, kimonos, chopsticks, takeout boxes and karate uniforms.“While LifeWay’s attempt at incorporating diversity into their curriculum is admirable and appreciated, the resulting product is grossly misguided and inappropriate,”...

We have a home computer than runs XP home edition. All of a sudden we get a message that the file Windows\system32\config\system is missing or corrupt. The suggested remedy, however, is puzzling. The system suggests that we start Windows Setup using the "original Setup CD-ROM." Are they talking about the Windows REINSTALLATION CD? That CD, however, doesn't seem to be bootable. Thanks for any suggestions.

I would appreciate any help in solving a wireless connection problem. I am using a Microsoft MN-520 wireless card to connect to a D-Link wireless broadband router. My computer is running XP. The wireless connection has been fine until recently. Now, however, I am unable to connect to the internet via the wireless card. Both the "Wireless" and "Power" lights are on. In addition, the card DOES "see" the SSID of my network. The signal strength varies from "good" to "excellent." However, the IP address of the card is some "oddball" address, and is unrelated to the IP address of...

Saha referendums bring large turnout Bajeerah Lowe , Staff Writer 11/05/2003 COATESVILLE - The issue divided the city, brought out residents from around the county who want to weigh in with their opinion, caused written and oral arguments from both sides and led to numerous lawsuits and in the end city voters sided with the Valley family fighting the city’s condemnation of their land. The much contested three referenda to amend the city charter passed by a close margin Tuesday. With all six precincts reporting, the first two amendments addressing the city’s ability to develop golf recreation outside city limits...

Someone pointed out on another thread that today is my third anniversary here. I just wanted to thank everyone here for making this experience (as Yogi Berra would say) "necessary." Truly however, the experience has been great. Best moments: - Being at the VP mansion on December 4, 2000, yelling "Get out of Cheney's house." We were on the north corner of 34th and Mass Ave. (under the lights), and the Gore people were on the south corner, in the dark. While we were protesting, a young man brought us pizza (because the customer who had ordered it changed his/her...

The body of the note says, "Will meet tonight as we agreed, because on Wednesday I don't think I'll make it, so don't be late. And yes, by the way here is the file you asked for. It's all written there. See you. blkbsxos" Attached to the note is a file "readnow.zip" I have the latest Symantec definitions, but the note still got through. Is this file a virus, or a hoax?

Support grows for Saha fight Bajeerah Lowe , Staff Writer 09/30/2003 WEST CHESTER -- The private business sector joined in the fight against Coatesville’s proposed regional recreation center Monday when the Pennsylvania Golf Course Owners Association, owners of area golf courses, a bowling alley and an ice rink, and area taxpayers filed a lawsuit seeking to halt the plan in its tracks. Citing the city’s home rule charter, attorneys for the business owners said Coatesville is prohibited from engaging in proprietary activities. "The (recreation center) is a proprietary activity," said Donald C. Turner of the West Chester firm Unruh, Turner,...
