After playing the portion of Trump's speech where he talked about the election night debacle, the host had to take a moment to read a statement that Newsmax believes the election results to be accurate and to remind us that election results were legally certified. I heard an interview with Crenshaw on Tucker that was re-broadcast on my local radio station. Crenshaw claimed that what happened at the capitol was mostly the result of the right wing media lying to us about the January 6th electoral certification and giving us false hope. Yesterday DeWine gave an emergency address to the state. Essentially declaring war on small business. All businesses will have to post mandatory mask wearing signs on their public entrances. I have to admit, for the first time through this debacle my anger has turned to profound sadness. Sadness for this country I love so much. For my children and grandchildren on the way. My sadness may soon revert back to anger but for the time being the only thing that gives me comfort is my absolute belief that God has a plan.

Yesterday my family and I were driving from Columbus to Cincinatti. As we got on I-270, (the outterbelt for Columbus), the traffic was unusually heavy and slow. It didn't take long to see why. As though the shutdown wasn't bad enough....So this morning as my guys came in, the talk was about the $600 per week back credit that was deposited in the account of one of my guys who I laid off for 3 weeks when all of this first went down. We are bombarded by images and newstories of the heroes in all of this. Nurses, doctors, grocery store workers, truckers. To me, what makes a hero is sacrifice. The people I've named above are no doubt making a sacrifice in time and work load, and yes, a greater risk of contracting the virus. They have been knighted by the media and society with unprecedented 'Hero' status. We are reminded everyday of their sacrifice. We are told that our existence depends on them. It's starting to sound like they are kicking around the idea that folks who have had corona already can get off the bench and get back into the economy. So basically we will be rewarded for contracting corona. I own a small business. Straight up... I'll find the damn virus and get infected if that's what it takes. I imagine I won't be the only one.

He keeps stopping himself during his thoughts about what's going on with our country.... and says..."I have to stop, I'm getting dangerously close to saying something..." As a small business owner providing a discretionary home-improvement service I am hyper-focused on how corona could absolutely decimate small businesses, from landscaping to retail to restaraunts and so much more. What the hell? No store here in Columbus has toilet paper. I'm not looking to hoard the stuff, I just need to be able to wipe my a**. Why toilet paper???? People must have the stuff packed to the rafters in their basements and garages. Best I can figure the news about no toilet paper during the Venezuela economic meltdown must have scarred our psyche pretty bad. It's to the point where it might be prudent for the secretary of commerce to hold a news conference and re-assure folks that there is no toilet paper shortage.
