The president’s attack on “fake news” are especially ironic, Scarborough said, because Trump and his closest advisors have repeatedly lied about inauguration crowds, crime rate statistics and nonexistent terrorist attacks. “As Jesus said, don’t throw stones if you live in glass houses,” Scarborough said. “This man lives in the biggest glass house there is when it comes to a disconnection from truth. So to attack the media and then say they’re enemies of the people is beyond the pale.”

The illegal immigrant who admitted causing a deadly Christmas Eve crash in Clarkson in 2015, has been sentenced. Efrain Lopez-Contreras was sentenced today to 6 to 18 years in prison after he pleaded guilty last month to vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter and DWI. The head-on crash fatally injured 14-year-old Giana Bartolucci and injured her father -- Pastor Tony Bartolucci -- as they drove to get a Christmas tree. Lopez-Contreras is expected to be deported to Mexico after he is released.
  • NSA collecting phone records (Vanity)

So the NSA is looking into our phone metadata. Like Senator Lindsey Graham says its ok “they're trying to … find out what terrorist groups” are doing. Obama defends it saying “they help us prevent terrorist attacks”. If you look into my phone records, you will be completely board. I have nothing to hide, I have nothing to fear, right? And it might find aboritions of people making bizarre calls and pin point potential criminals. That is true. But why should I believe that a government that received numerous warnings from the Russian government cautioning us about the Tsarnaev...

I’m confused. I can’t figure out the high-and-mighty Democrats who rule our country. Either I’m dumb as a rock or they’re a bunch of hypocritical tyrants. Specifically, on the issue of federal land and energy development, what I can’t figure out is when is the environment sacred and when is it not? When is federal land of such untouchable environmental value that all energy exploration is banned – no matter what – and when can those protections be swept away as if they don’t exist? The only answer I can come up with: Whenever the Democrats want. I’m talking about...

Bill Stamps Jr., a local businessman and community activist, was detained recently at Del Norte County Airport after marijuana was found in his luggage. Stamps was not arrested and faces no criminal charges, according to county District Attorney Mike Riese. Stamps has agreed to take part in a 30-day "home-study" diversion program, said his attorney, George Mavris. Riese said Stamps is being treated "like any other individual who has possession of less than an ounce." Stamps told The Triplicate he has a doctor's approval to use marijuana for treatment of stress that dates to his service during the Vietnam War....

HAILEY, Idaho (AP) - Three pro-marijuana initiatives have again been approved by voters in the central Idaho town of Hailey. Voters yesterday approved initiatives to legalize medical use of marijuana, industrial use of hemp, and to make enforcement of marijuana laws the lowest police priority in the city. Rejected was an initiative to require the city to regulate and tax distribution of the drug. Voters last November passed the same three initiatives, but city officials balked at recognizing them.

A former Monroe County Sheriff's deputy has been found not guilty of the most serious charge against him. The case involved a deadly drunk driving crash. James Telban was found not guilty of vehicular manslaughter, but he was found guilty on a charge of DWI, and failure to yield. The case dates back to September 6th of last year when Telban drove with a blood alcohol level 3 times the legal limit, and he pulled out into the path of motorcyclist Peter Volkmuth of Greece. Volkmuth died in that crash. Assistant District Attorney Chris Rodeman says unfortunately a judge did...

Five families who attempted to have their Batavia high students transferred out of a transgender teacher's class have been told their children will stay put. The district received five written requests from parents requesting their children be moved out of the classroom led by a teacher who changed sexes from male to female. Batavia's superintendent denied the request because they did not meet district guidelines. The teacher will instruct about 100 students this year.

It's common to hear about jobs moving out of Rochester, either overseas, or down south. A local company is doing just the opposite. The Sentry Group is moving some jobs from China to East Rochester. Sentry Group announced Monday it will move some of the production of its gun safes from Shangai China to its manufacturing base in East Rochester. The company renovated 30,000 square feet of space at its headquarters in East Rochester to make the large gun safes. The move will add 30 new jobs over the next four years. Sentry decided to make the move because it...

Their daughter, whose hard-partying antics are a common theme on "The Osbournes," is at the Promises treatment center in Malibu, California. Cannabis Keeping Canada Snowboard Champ Out of U.S. VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Reuters) - A controversy over marijuana did not stop Canadian snowboarder Ross Rebagliati from winning a gold medal in the 1998 Olympics, but it may be enough to keep him from going to this year's competition in Salt Lake City as a spectator. Rebagliati, whose medals will be on display in Utah, has run afoul of U.S. law that lets immigration officials bar entry for foreign citizens who have admitted past drug use, even if they have never been arrested or convicted of a crime. Rebagliati, 30, and retired ...
