My dear friend Lisa and her family are suffering a terrible lose today. Her dear Mother was found dead today around noon in her bed by her brother. Her Mom's name is Corinne. Please pray for this family. Corinne's granddaughters were deeply in grief as I comforted them when they got word since I was there. I have not seen Lisa yet but can only imagine. Corinne was healthy and mid 60's further adding to the shock of this all. Thank you!

I have never done this before. I have had looses over the years. But dear Steven is the 2nd son the parents may loose and they are very elderly. I can only pretend to feel the pain. Please pray for Steven S and his mother Marie. He was diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer a week ago and has spread to bone. Shocked all around. He is not going to make it unless God intercedes.

Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers and tourists braved snow, rain and frigid temperatures last night and early this morning to be a part of the world's most famous welcome to the new year. "It was well worth the frozen toes," said Zach Thomas, 20, of Connecticut, moments after Mayor Bloomberg pushed the button to start the 12-foot, 11,875-pound Waterford crystal ball's descent over Times Square. Richa Pandey, 20, who's from sunny Southern California, was not turned off by the cold. "I like the weather," she said. "It's full of surprises. Just like the city." NORFOLK - Twenty years ago today, a routine exercise turned into disaster aboard the USS Iowa when an explosion in a gun turret killed 47 crewmen. Today, around 250 people whose lives were touched by that day are expected to gather at Naval Station Norfolk to remember the men who perished and, hopefully, to heal some old wounds. They will gather at Iowa Point, where a small memorial at the water's edge pays tribute to the fallen sailors. Crew and family members will speak, and Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim will offer remarks. The names of the dead will be read...

New York CityFamilies insist 9/11 remembrance be at Ground Zero THE ASSOCIATED PRESS July 31, 2007 Mayor Michael Bloomberg said yesterday that the Sept. 11 anniversary ceremony would not be held in its original Ground Zero location, despite threats by family members to boycott and hold their own shadow remembrance. Construction on the memorial, as well as new buildings that are going up, have made the site unsafe for a large public gathering like the one that has taken place at the site each year since the attacks, he said. Bloomberg said the decision to move the sixth anniversary commemoration...
