Tragic accident for US skier Lindsey Kildow today.
Kildow crashes hard in downhill training

SAN SICARIO, Italy (AP) -- American medal contender Lindsey Kildow crashed on her training run in the Olympic downhill Monday.
Kildow slammed hard to the course and lay in obvious pain as medical personnel rushed to her aid. She was taken down the mountain on a stretcher, but the extent of her injuries wasn't immediately known.
Kildow, 21, won two downhills on the World Cup this year and was ranked No. 2 on the circuit.
Defending gold medalist Carole Montillet-Carles also crashed Monday. The French skier lost control while landing a jump midway through her run and crashed into the protective fencing that lines the course. She was tended to for several minutes and then taken down on a sled.
She appeared to be conscious, though no further details of her condition were immediately available.
Will the USA WOMENS SNOWBOARD HALFPIPE TEAM make history...
Stay tuned : )
Gold to the US.
Silver to the US.
Bronze to Norway.
Wohoo.
It was so close for the sweep once again.
USA finished 4th also
Being a Norwegian I am over the moon with the bronze :-)
However, the one American girl who fell in the last run was really unlucky and would easily have been on the podium.
Kelly Clark, however, was totally unbeatable. Even in her last run, after she has already won, she kicked everyone's behind.
Impressive.
The USA team beat team Norway in curling this morning.
I am getting tired of this :-)
The ladies USA team playing against Norway as we speak.
Current score: 3-1 I believe..
Cheers.
4-1
Now. Ugh! :-)
We won't be seeing the coverage of this until late tonight. If last night was any indicator I will have to wait 13 more hours for the final snowboard run.
Where in Norway are you from? I have friends in Tonsberg. Been there and all over Norway several times in my life. Beautiful country.
I am from a small town south of Oslo. On the other side of the Oslo fjord from Tonsberg.
It is going to be exiting to follow Chad Hedrick in the 500 meters speed scating. Can he copy Eric Heiden's incredible feat?
Stay tuned :-)
Cheers.
Chad Hedrick's other events are the 1000m, 1500m, 10000m and the team pursuit.
Clark only got forth.
It was Hannah Teter who won in front of Gretchen Bleiler.
Norway's Kjersti Buaas took the bronze
Hannah Teter
Gretchen Bleiler
Kjersti Buaas
Right.
Then, I guess he cannot technically copy Heiden then.
Sorry, second mistake today.
Any of the other US skaters with a gold medal chance in the 500?
Who can forget the great Norwegian skater Johann Olav Kass and his 4 GOLDS
Or Cross Country greats Daehlie Alsgaard and Ulvang.
Or Alpines Aamodt and Kjus.
Great memories of many fine Norwegian athletes.
Our own Speed Skating hero Eric Heiden is an orthopedic surgeon and still involved with Team USA in speedskating.
Fitzrandolph won gold in 2003 and Carpenter Bronze so I suppose they are favorites although huge altitude difference from 2002.
I was so much hoping for Aamodt to get a medal in the downhill yesterday. I think he was only a few hundreths of a second from being on the podium again.
I still remember watching the Olympic downhill in Lillehammer from a dormroom in Colorado. I was watching it with a frind of Tommy Moe. At least one of us was celebrating before the night was over :-)
Look out for Ole Einar Bjørndalen this olympics again. He swept all events at the Salt Lake Olympics. Started out with silver this time around, but he has got four more chances. I love the biathlon. Very exiting sport.
Cheers.
Do they still use the ski jump hill Holmenkollen?
On one visit many years ago we were at the top in summer when the National soccor team was training running up and down the stairs. That was pretty exciting.
I have never visited in winter.
Norway's ladies now in the lead 7-6 against team USA.
Cheers.
What's a halfpipe?
Day 3 DAY TIME OLYMPICS Ping!!!
