ENJOY : )
Complete Olympic Schedule (Presumably updated with Results)
Sorry I am late, THE BLIZZARD is pretty bad.
Good morning. I wondered if you were snowed under!!
At least a foot of snow and still windy. Usually it looks so nice after a storm with all the snow in the trees but it has all blown away.
Catching up on Olympic results now, some surprises. I guess all the added PR for the ski team turned into a bust.
Not surprised about Kwan when I saw her crying on the ice. She knew she was not going to be able to compete then I believe.
And Gold and Silver in Mens Halfpipe , with 4th also going to an American...oh how close to a repeat from 2002.
Womens speedskating is going on as I type.
Enjoy!!
3-0 so far in the 1st for Canada's Women's Hockey team vs Russia. Yowzers we're racking up goals!
CNBC is showing Womens Hockey, Canada v. Russia.
Yep... I knew as soon as I saw them on the Sports Illustrated cover that they were screwed. Perhaps, if Bode Miller spent more time training and less time golfing, then he might actually WIN something.
Let me adjust - after 1 period, it's 7-0 for Canada.
Ouch.
I'm still trying to figure it out; but it looks like the medal ceremony from yesterday was at 12:30 THIS morning; in fact, on the pages I'm looking at, all the ceremonies are at 12:30 a.m.
Does that mean they aren't showing them during what they are calling Prime Time?
Hubby just told me he would guess they showed it at 3:00 AM our time~ That is not right... I want to see that kid get his gold, so I can cry and cheer for him... and jump up and down with my son when they play our National anthem.... (what fun is the olympics without that stuff?)
Hehe... if you figure it out will you let me know.
I will do the same.... Thanx Ms.H!
I believe they said during the prime time telecast AND the 12:00 am one, that BOTH times they said the medal ceremony would be aired TONIGHT in prime time. That late night show is taped coverage (other than when Lester Holt broke in to talk about Michelle dropping out) and I can't imagine they wouldn't really do what they had said and showed that speed skating medal live (especially since it's the first one).
And good job to our Tomato :-) He's homegrown here in SoCal! Maybe the alumni from my high school can help the US get a pairs medal after their great night yesterday being the first to land that thrown triple in international competition!
Anyway, I KNOW I heard them mention the medals being seen today...I would guess probably near the beginning of tonight's show...
HTH :-)
Medals for America's gold medal winner will be shown tonight in prime time.
Don't fret I am on the case.. if I hear any more I will post it here. :] (can you tell I really want to see that Gold.. Beside that I am a National anthem geek!)
Am I the only one who hates the way this stuff is broadcast? The networks were showing preachers and exercise videos while the mens downhill, the marquee event of the winter olympics, was being raced live. Why didn't they show the event? It must have drawn a better crowd than the paid programming that was on.
It is very frustrating but they did the same thing in 2002 when the events were here on US Soil.
By the time night falls I am too tired to watch tv so I miss the broadcasts. Oh well.
I must say........ I watched (suffered through) about two/three hours of that last night after midnight............... horrible!
This is indeed great and important for the athletes, but, man, did it suck!
Thrilling (sarcasm off).

Prep Boys' Hockey Team Tops U.S. Women
FReeper: "Yep, boys and girls are equal in every way. Imagine the score had it been a real game with checking."
LOL.
The tomato is one ugly dude but he is badass. No one can compare to him at the moment in snowboarding.
